Concerned residents should call the following hotlines, especially if they have private wells that haven’t been tested yet:
MIPC hotline for testing requests: 610-364-8426
DEP Complaint line: 866-255-5158
PADOH for health concerns: 717-787-3350
I was concerned to learn from the @PennsylvaniaDEP that benzene vapor was found in the basement of home next to the MIPC facility in Aston where they reported a 9,000 barrel gas leak just before Christmas. Benzene is a known carcinogen. The impacted property is Bethel Township.
It was an absolutely beautiful day for our annual Pet Expo! Thank you to everyone for coming out & if you couldn’t make it, please contact my office for any pet or non-pet problems you have.
On Tuesday we cut the ribbon, dedicating more than a restroom, but a symbol of inclusivity and equality! This addition aims to make our state Capitol more accessible and welcoming to a wider range of visitors. It's not just about the equipment, it's about freedom and dignity.
In light of the Trump Administration’s ongoing disregard for basic constitutional rights, the Shapiro Administration developed guidance for individuals, organizations, and businesses to consider if they encounter immigration enforcement operations in Pennsylvania.

⬇️ FOR INDIVIDUALS ⬇️
News: The Pa. Supreme Court has ruled that the Chester Water Authority cannot be sold only under the authority of the city of Chester, a win for activists who tried to block a privatization effort by the cash-strapped city. The authority serves 46 suburban Philly municipalities.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has signed a declaration of disaster emergency ahead of a Saturday deadline that would freeze Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits until a federal budget is passed. https://t.co/vbMLFVIKSE
Because of the federal government shutdown, SNAP payments will not be paid November 1st. This list of food locations in Delaware County includes the names and locations of various organizations that can offer support for families in need and to support your neighbor.
As the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, events like our Veterans Luncheon are some of the highlights of my life. Thank you to everyone who came out and, most importantly, thank you for your sacrifice and service!
Another successful senior fair in the books! Thanks to everyone for coming out as well as to all of our wonderful organizations to help our seniors make their golden years even brighter.
Devastating news out of MN. I first met Melissa Hortman when she was Democratic Leader in Minnesota and felt inspired when she was elected Speaker of the House. We must all condemn violence against all elected officials and be unified in denouncing hate https://t.co/mbjLKdwGby
Private equity has no place in our hospitals & nursing homes when their goal is to extract profits at the expense of patients. @PaHouseDems took the first step with passing legislation to create more oversight when private equity attempts to buy a healthcare facility in PA.
Last session saw a big win for clean energy with the passage of #SolarforSchools. Time to go further with #BlueGreenCaucus package of bills to improve EV charging infrastructure, increase solar development & job training for veterans in clean energy jobs. https://t.co/C43EgQvgBe
For 3 years, I’ve been pushing back against private equity firms that endanger our community health. Their push for profit over patients has been quick and devastating. HB1460 would prevent this from ever happening again in Pennsylvania.
Another year, another successful Pet Expo! Thank you to everyone for coming out to help all your fur babies. If you couldn’t make it out feel free to stop by my office, 115 East Brookhaven Rd, Brookhaven & we will help you out as best we can.
When we make our workplaces safer for our healthcare professionals we make it safer for our patients. I’ve been working for years to pass the Healthcare Violence Prevention Act and it passed the PA House today with bipartisan support.
Childcare is crucial in order to support working families. I’ve been serving Delco for years as a single mother and wouldn’t have been able to do it without quality childcare. We need to get these facilities the funds they need & to pay the workers a living wage.
This morning Prospect Medical Holdings told a bankruptcy judge in Texas that they plan to start closure proceedings for the entire Crozer Health system. This afternoon I stood in solidarity with my colleagues and frontline healthcare workers to fight back.

During an Aging & Older Adult Services Committee meeting, I asked about the potential impact a federal funding freeze could have on programs aimed at protecting our most vulnerable populations. Many people in my district depend on these types of programs.
A quick video to respond to all the calls and videos we’re getting about what’s happening in Washington DC and the impact on grants and programs that our neighbors rely on
