Both Cascadia and Honda have been trying to buy product, but Cleveland Cliffs CEO is rejecting the orders.

U.S.-owned Stelco is laying off up to 500 workers across its Hamilton and Lake Erie facilities, citing U.S. steel tariffs, weak demand, and market pressures. What a joke, given that its parent company publicly supported those tariffs imposed by #POTUS.

As federal Industry Minister @melaniejoly said, Stelco cannot use the trade war to justify cutting jobs after making a commitment to maintain union and non-union positions in order to acquire the steel plant in 2024. Canada will demand that it uphold those contractual obligations and maintain 1,500 jobs, or face enforcement action.
