Rep. Russ Fulcher

Lifelong Idahoan | Member of @NatResources & @HouseCommerce | Proudly serving Idaho’s 1st Congressional District #ID01

[Rep. Russ Fulcher @RepRussFulcher]

When I served in the Idaho Legislature, one thing was always abundantly clear—legislation and debate must always be limited to a single subject.

It goes without saying, but in D.C., that is not how things are run, and I believe that needs to change.

I have reintroduced the One Subject at a Time Act, H.R. 4324, which will focus every bill the U.S. Congress considers on a single subject, ensuring each topic receives a separate vote.

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Marge and Harty at their business, Hearthstone Bakery, in Kamiah, Idaho.

Over a wonderful meal, I enjoyed hearing the story behind their success and learning more about the hard work and dedication that have gone into building their business. At 85 years old, Marge and Harty continue to serve their community and provide jobs for 30 employees through their business ventures.

Marge and Harty embody the strong work ethic and community spirit that make Idaho so special!

I am proud to announce that I have joined the Hydropower Caucus.

Hydropower is not only an important source of reliable, clean energy for our country, but also an important economic driver for Idaho, with 76 operating hydroelectric plants across our state.

I look forward to working with my colleagues in the caucus to prioritize lower energy costs, expand economic opportunities, and support reliable, clean energy production.

Happy #NationalRealSugarDay! Idaho is the nation’s second-largest sugarbeet-producing state, and more than 500 grower families help power a $1 billion industry that supports jobs, rural communities, and American-grown sugar. 🌱🍬

Happy National Farmers Day!

Today, we recognize and thank our farmers and ranchers for their hard work and long hours year-round that put food on our tables.

Idaho is home to 25,000 farms and ranches and ranks among the top 10 states in the nation for the production of more than 25 crops and livestock products. Idaho’s farmers and ranchers are an important part of what makes our state strong.

Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists conducted a horrific attack on civilians in Israel. More than 1,200 women, children, and men were tortured and killed, including 12 Americans.

Today, we prayerfully remember those who lost their lives. We are grateful for those who survived, and we dedicate efforts to prevent this type of heinous attack from ever happening again.

Recently, the House passed H.R. 10326, the PROOF Act.

This legislation will strengthen federal-state cooperation to prevent fraud in high-dollar federal programs and allow agencies to collaborate in investigations and prosecutions.

The bill holds agencies accountable by requiring annual reports to Congress. It requires strict privacy and data-security safeguards and limits how federal agencies can use the information.

[Rep. Russ Fulcher @RepRussFulcher]

The SAVE Act remains a top priority for Idahoans and Americans across the country.

The Department of Justice recently charged 16 individuals in connection with illegal voting and related election crimes. One of those individuals was located in Idaho and allegedly voted in the May 2022 and November 2024 elections.

We cannot allow the integrity of our elections to be undermined. I have co-sponsored the SAVE Act and the Save America Act, which have both passed the House. Now, it’s time for the Senate to act and support these critical election safeguards.

Meeting America’s growing energy demands will require increased domestic power production and a more diverse energy portfolio.

I am proud to announce that language from my bill, the CLEAN Act, has been included in the large Senate permitting package that was just introduced.

Geothermal energy has the potential to strengthen energy sources, and I look forward to working with my House and Senate colleagues to deliver this legislation to President Trump’s desk.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Hyde Amendment. Since its passage, it is estimated that more than 2.6 million lives have been saved.

The government should not use taxpayer dollars to fund abortions. For 50 years, the Hyde Amendment has helped uphold this principle. We celebrate the gift of life and the innocent babies whose lives have been protected.

Investing in our water resources and infrastructure will allow for continued economic growth in Idaho.

I am proud to see H.R. 9497, the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2026, a bipartisan piece of legislation, pass the House.

This year’s WRDA legislation authorizes 133 new feasibility studies for locally proposed water resources infrastructure projects, as well as 14 projects that have been vetted by the Corps and are ready for construction upon Congressional authorization.

It comes as no surprise that Flock, a mass surveillance system, is now asking the government for privacy.

Public maps are one of the few tools Americans have to maintain transparency and accountability over these surveillance systems.

Americans want privacy. Not mass surveillance.

[Leading Report @LeadingReport]

Flock Safety has issued a legal demand seeking the removal of a public map showing the locations of approximately 300,000 of its surveillance devices across the United States.

I’m proud to share that through my office’s casework efforts, we have helped return more than $26 million to hardworking Idahoans in the First Congressional District.

It is an honor to serve the people of the First District and work alongside my team to help constituents navigate issues with federal agencies.

I am pleased to announce that I received a 100% rating on the American Energy Alliance’s 119th Congressional Scorecard. This recognition reflects my support for American energy.

Idaho plays a vital role in our nation’s energy resources, and I will continue to advance legislation that strengthens our energy security.

The FBI is investigating recent reports of a sophisticated data breach of its systems. This serves as an important reminder for all Americans to safeguard their private data.

I remain committed to protecting Americans’ data and privacy from warrantless searches, criminals, and hostile nations, while ensuring our law enforcement and intelligence agencies have the technological tools necessary to keep our nation safe.

Here are some best practices for evaluating your own online security.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has released 35 geothermal energy parcels for a competitive lease sale.

This is the kind of American energy development we should continue to pursue. My bill, the CLEAN Act, would help further unlock opportunities to develop geothermal energy and support consistent geothermal lease sales.

Americans want strong energy security, and I am proud that our state of Idaho can help lead the way.
