Seven out of ten deaths in the U.S. are caused by chronic diseases. It is very important that everyone sees their physicians for regular checkups and screenings. As a physician myself, I am committed to ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all those with chronic diseases.
On Global Energy Independence Day, I'm reflecting on the importance of developing all types of energy to control our energy destiny. I'll always advocate for greater implementation of renewable energy sources and a sustainable system that utilizes all types of energy efficiently.
July is National Ice Cream Month. This is the perfect time of year for taking your family out to one of our wonderful local ice cream shops for a cold treat!
July is BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month. In many communities of color, including the Indian-American community, there can be a stigma associated with mental health struggles. We all must do what we can to remove this stigma and raise awareness of mental health.
July is National Disability Pride Month and marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Let us recommit to being inclusive to all in our community.
Veena, our daughter, Veena’s sister & family, and I had a great time celebrating the 4th of July at the Greybrooke parade in McCandless. Veena grew up in Greybrooke, and this has become a family tradition. Hope that everyone enjoyed celebrating our nation’s 250th birthday!
On this 4th of July and the 250th anniversary of our nation, I want to convey to my neighbors and all Pennsylvanians the great meaning of this celebration to me and my family. Happy 4th of July and let us continue to fulfill the meaning and ideals of the founding of the USA.
My son, my staff, @SenWilliamsPA & her staff, County Councilmember Lissa Geiger Shulman & I had a wonderful time meeting our neighbors at Hampton Twp Community Day. Thanks to Twp leaders & staff, Twp first responders, vendors, performers & attendees for a great celebration.
I was both relieved that the Supreme Court affirmed birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment and disheartened that the decision wasn't unanimous. Immigrants are the only source of population growth in PA and advance our state in all walks of life.

Today marks the anniversary of the signing of the 1964 Civil Rights Act by President Lyndon B. Johnson. It is a core piece of legislation in protecting the rights and liberties of all Americans. Today we honor those who gave their time, energy, and lives in the name of progress.

Today is the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, an important moment in the history of the LGBTQ+ Community. This act of resistance against discrimination marked the beginning of the LGBTQ+ Rights Movement as we know it today and directly led to the annual celebration of Pride.
