@Zingus5 It has a lot of confirmations and new details. Asgore having interacted with a dark world previously, this having something to do with dess probably, a shelter code, they'll try to bring Noelle into the fray, and stuff like the ch2 dark world 100% being made by the knight.
@exwo0@solarsyrup7@Igny220088 i think thats helps it a bit. it makes there be more room for these character moments. all the characters are now in a much better place in their arcs for 6/7, compared to if you skipped 5
@junebugparadise@morikxziri the plot did move forward. characters grew, their perspectives shift, the chapter literally ends with them going 'lets bring noelle into this', getting a shelter code, and giving more info and confirmations for the mysteries set up.
@user17386704 If you make it so you can spy on Susie and see this, then Susie doesn't know that and will still say this information to you. having one or the other is better and in this case having this exposition works to further set up that Susie has the clues to catch on to Kris's actions
@JJunkWarrior@Alison_is_lost The tone is one thing I think is very consistent honestly, everything feels mostly in-line with what came before. Chapter 4 was still a very comedic chapter.
@Seelenaire@JoraDavakin This is the chapter where Susie realizes this needs to be taken seriously and not just revel in the escapism, which seems to be leading into the heavy chapter six. I am not too concerned with pacing since undertale does most of its major story reveals in the final few sections
@skittybitty_yt I think people are a bit too concerned with pacing. Undertale's pacing only gets the major reveals and drops in the final few sections. This feels very much like a hotlands/core.
@skittybitty_yt@fuckyouimmadasf I think things like one of the tracks for chapter five being worked on the years ago means that a direction was planned.
@TannenbergBltz@_jokerleo Its heavy on that in the chapter where Noelle and Susie confess to each other, it makes sense. Even then theres multiple lines where Susie mentions her homelife or scenes of her reflecting on the change she experienced in Ch1/2.
@JJunkWarrior@magicalbusses the humor landed for me most of the time here, but thats subjective. i think chapter 5 is the 'hotlands' and, following undertale pacing, this is right before basically everything happens. why it feels so weird i bet
