45 MILLION ACRES of pristine forest.
Let’s be clear: Once it’s destroyed, you don’t just grow it back.
We are watching people who value absolutely nothing but extraction and profit dismantle something precious that belongs to all of us.
Actor Sam Neill has sadly died aged 78. As well has being a fantastic actor, he regularly showed his love of nature and farming. Here he is with his beloved duck. A lovely man who understood the value of the simple things in life. RIP Sam Neill.
Hitting your kids is in the same category as circumcision, iPads, strict adherence to the CDC vaccine schedule---it is for Ns, goyim, and walmart pajama people. It lowers IQ (Straus, 1995), increases aggression (Gershoff, 2016), is less effective than a timeout, and requires escalation to keep working. The replies to articles like this are filled up with the Dumbest People Who Ever Existed saying "it worked for me" and then genuinely malicious and hateful morons dropping reaction gifs of like daffy duck swinging a belt
"EVERY STATE IN AMERICA ALLOWS YOU TO PHYSICALLY CORRECT YOUR CHILD. It's legal. It's fun. Bring it on." -- profile says: Cat Sanctuary Dad. Unyielding steel. Workouts, keto, cat chaos, anime rants. Godzilla, Gundam, Mazinger, Ultraman, classical art, manga.
If you hit your kids, you will create permanent emotional distance with the only person/people you could ever be that close to, not to mention sending them down the road of being as much of a lost fuckup loser as you are who will hit their own kids, or wont, but only after spending a decade figuring out why they reflexively apologize all the time.
Where are all the old-school Earth First types? Why is nobody out there pulling up survey stakes, chaining themselves to bulldozers and such?
For those who don't know, NYS started a thing called "ORES," or "Office of Renewable Energy Siting," which bypasses all local control and lets any developer come in and build a 2MW+ solar project ANYWHERE.
Local governments and agencies have zero recourse -- ORES can decide what's allowed and where, period. It's essentially a Soviet-style central planning system.
Apparently, they're even able to bypass the Adirondack Park Agency, thereby flouting article 14 of the NYS Constitution (the "forever wild" amendment). They're 100% violating the constitution of the state of New York here in the Adirondack Park and are, I guess, just assuming they'll deal with the lawsuits later -- after the developers cash their checks.
When these sons of bitches are coming even for the Adirondacks, we have a massive problem.
NYS is a hellscape on a level most cannot comprehend. This is a dress rehearsal for what is coming down the pike for the rest of the USA, mark my words. It's a David and Goliath situation.
“I am losing precious days. I am degenerating into a machine for making money. I am learning nothing in this trivial world of men. I must break away and get out into the mountains to learn the news.”
— John Muir
dude computers are actually so fucking insane when you really think about it. we literally figured out how to write some fake-ass rules called code and somehow convinced rocks to follow them. like actual rocks. sand, melted, purified, carved into tiny pathways where electricity just flows in patterns. that’s it. that’s the whole magic.
and yet from that we get operating systems, compilers, kernels, networks, distributed systems, machine learning models, entire virtual worlds running inside other virtual worlds. billions of tiny electrical decisions per second, all because we defined some abstract logic.
humans basically invented a language of instructions and taught matter itself to execute it.
You’re telling me that for me to be born it took 1 dad, 1 mom, 4 grandparents, 8 great‑grandparents, 16great‑great‑grandparents… and NONE of them left me even a single plot of land?
