Five groups that campaigned for Britain's Online Safety Act are now pushing age verification and digital ID bills in 21 US states and Congress.

Four of them are British.

One of them is the trade association for the companies that sell the age checks.

In 2027, Google plans to roll out mandatory developer verification globally. Apps from developers who haven't registered with Google will face restrictions on certified Android devices → including apps installed outside Google Play.

🚩 F-Droid and other independent app stores will become harder to use
🚩 Sideloading unverified apps will require a special “advanced” process
🚩Independent developers and hobbyists will have to deal with Google’s registration system
🚩 Google is becoming a gatekeeper for software running on Android devices

This undermines one of Android’s defining features: the freedom to install software from wherever you choose. 😤

Android is supposed to be open, and your phone should be yours → NOT GOOGLES.

🚨 BLACKROCK IS QUIETLY TURNING STREET LIGHTS INTO SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS

While everyone was focused on tearing down Flock cameras, a much bigger player was already rolling out the replacement.

Axon, one of the hottest companies in the surveillance market, is now partnering to turn regular street lights into smart cameras.

No new poles needed.
They just convert the lights you already drive under every day into:

• License plate readers
• Live streaming cameras
• AI that recognizes vehicle make, model, color, damage, bumper stickers, and more

Counties are canceling Flock contracts and spending tens of millions on Axon systems instead.

Here’s the part most people don’t know:

About 25% of Axon is owned by BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street. The same firms that have openly talked about “forcing behaviors.”

Axon’s CEO has said their goal is to build a society where crime “just doesn’t make sense anymore” through constant monitoring.

He also made $164 million in a single year.

While people were busy removing Flock cameras, this more advanced, harder-to-detect system was already being installed in plain sight.

American surveilled the Flock CEO and found he takes different routes and changes out his vehicles daily, likely to make it harder to track him

If the man who made his fortune recording your license plate changes his own every day to preserve his privacy, then what does that tell you about the value of privacy itself?”

The data being referenced is from Council on Criminal Justice and it shows crime days through 2025

- Nationwide crime days showed a 36% decline since 2021
- Houston Texas which is heavily saturated with flock only saw a 36% reduction in crime during this same time period

Meaning the crime rate fell at the same rate whether there were flock cameras or not

Keep in mind there are 3,800 flock cameras in the Houston area so you would logically expect the decline in crime to be much greater, but homicides only fell at the national average

This Flock camera was reportedly cut down on Friday and police immediately responded WITH A FORENSICS TEAM 🤨

For reference, when someone tried to break into my house (video is up on my channel), the police laughed when asked if they were going to look for finger prints or to photograph the would be criminals' foot prints.

Someone tries to break in to an average citizens house and potentially kill them - no forensics team.

Someone cuts down a 3'' pole on the side of the road endangering literally no one - forensics team with every resource tax payer dollars can be used for immediately 🤡

🚨 A federal judge ruled that "tower dump" warrants, which allow police to obtain records for every cellphone that connected to nearby cell towers around a crime scene, are per se unconstitutional under the Fourth Amendment as general warrants.

Four senators want every phone and computer sold in America to demand your date of birth before it will work for you. A Linux developer has already published the script that tears it out, under his real name, with an invitation to sue him.

The bill is S. 5090, filed July 22 by Andy Kim, Cynthia Lummis, Adam Schiff, and John Barrasso. Two Democrats and two Republicans. It puts an age prompt inside the setup of every operating system in the country. A covered device is any general-purpose computer, so this reaches the phone in your pocket, the laptop on your desk, the console under your television. Accounts you already hold get swept in the day it takes effect.

Your own machine then informs on you. It hands your age bracket to every app, every app store, and every browser, and they are required to treat that signal as the primary indicator of who you are.

A browser provider under this bill is anyone who owns or maintains a browser. A man maintaining a fork in his spare time carries the same duty as Google, and the fines run $2,500 for a negligent violation and $7,500 for an intentional one, multiplied by every child affected.

Section 10 promises no government ID and no face scans. Section 3(d) then says that when a provider gets clear and convincing information that your declared age is wrong, it shall verify. It never says how. Section 4(c) makes app developers report you upstream when they decide you lied.

The brackets stop at 17 and file teenagers in with adults, while the state laws this is built to serve draw their line at 18. The federal signal cannot tell a 17 year old from a grown man. Every site under an 18+ mandate will need more than the signal. It will need your papers.

The work has already started inside your machine. On March 18 systemd merged a birthDate field into user records, citing California, Colorado, and Brazil by name. systemd runs as the init system on nearly every major distribution, so that field is sitting on Linux boxes whose owners have never heard of any of these bills. Nobody asked you. Nobody is going to.

@GrapheneOS answered in March. It will not implement age or identity verification, and if that means its phones cannot be sold in your state, so be it.

John McCardle built Ageless Linux. He declared himself in "full, knowing, and intentional noncompliance" with the California statute, cited the section number himself, and invited the lawsuit. His script makes the user the distributor. The liability scatters across every machine that runs it. There is no one man left to drag into court.

The script strips the systemd birthDate field and leaves a refusal notice where it stood. If any distribution ever ships a working age daemon, the project has already promised a replacement that answers every query with "unknown."

Artix refuses. Devuan refuses. DB48X, an open source calculator firmware, filed a legal notice saying it "does not, cannot and will not implement age verification." A calculator had to publish a legal notice. That is the reach of what these four wrote.

S. 5090 takes effect 18 months after it passes, if it passes.

Ford has a security vulnerability that they are internally leaving unfixed so they can sell you the solution

Their vehicles are vulnerable to a relay attack, that lets someone with a signal booster trick your vehicle into thinking they have the key fob

Ford knows this works and your vehicle can be stolen, but instead of fixing the security issue they are charging customers $7.99 per month, that’s $96 per year to be protected from this hacking

The security package even comes with stolen vehicle assist…. So they know that your vehicle can be stolen by this and they’ll assist and get it back… for a price

There is still time to fight this.

This is a "Temporary Injunction", which can be overturned based on a final judgment by the court.

It's yet another "think of the children" moral framing turned into mass collection of private information, ripe for data leaks and mass doxxing.

This all started because a 13-year-old girl was contacted by strangers online within a minute for explicit sexual acts, with over 400k cases of child sexual exploitation reported in just 2025 alone.

In an age where parents had more attention for their kids, this would not be happening. Kids should not be on social media, and because two-income households are common, the adults don't have the time or energy to police their kids' online habits.

Instead, even among the conservatives, who typically prefer less government interference, are pushing for more state-sponsored surveillance and "child protection". Kids these days are very tech-savvy and can easily bypass these interventions using VPNs and various other tools.

When age restrictions were rolled out in Australia, it only had a small effect on actually curbing minors' access to social media. The real fix is more parents actually parenting, not allowing the government to take away your privacy. This is going to lead to a chilling effect on free speech, as more and more people end up getting into "legal troubles" over what they say online.
