On Palestinian Prisoners Day, the Irish Republican Socialist Movement sends our solidarity to the thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli concentration camps, to their families, and to all those resisting occupation, dispossession and the genocidal US/Israeli war machine.
We know from our own history that the jail cell is not simply a place of confinement. It is used by occupying states to break resistance and to turn a national liberation struggle into a matter of “security” and “crime”. That same logic has been used for generations against the Palestinian people. It was this same logic that led our comrades to take a stand in the H-Blocks of Long Kesh to defeat the British policy of criminalisation.
As Irish Republican Socialists, we recognise that solidarity needs to mean more than words, as we acknowledge that our struggles are connected by the same systems of imperialism and class oppression.
On this day, we call for justice for all Palestinian prisoners. We demand an end to arbitrary detention, to torture and abuse, to the detention of children, and to the wider system that uses imprisonment as a tool of political control. We reaffirm the right of the Palestinian people to resist occupation and to live free in their own land.
Palestinian Prisoners Day is a reminder that behind every prison wall there is a human being, a family, a community, and a cause that cannot be buried. Their courage must be met with international solidarity. Their continued imprisonment must be met with anger. Their cause must be met with action.
From Ireland to Palestine, the struggle continues.
From the H-Blocks to the prisons of الاحتلال, resistance lives.
Victory to the prisoners. Freedom for Palestine.

Yesterday the Republican Socialist Youth Movement were proud to lead the Colour Party at this year’s Winifred Carney Commemoration in Belfast. While the day was first and foremost about honouring the life and legacy of Winifred Carney, we also marked the anniversary of the RSYM itself.
It was brilliant seeing such a strong turnout, and it shows the continued support we’re lucky to have from our communities.
Onwards to the Socialist Republic.

More action taken against homes in Derry over the weekend by Republican Socialist Activists opposing high rental prices and HMO’s in the city.
DTR - Drop The Rents
The Republican Socialist Movement will be remembering and commemorating the revolutionary and legendary Republican Socialist Activist Winifred Carney at her grave in Milltown Cemetery on Sunday 23rd November, assemble at 1pm at the entrance to the Cemetery.
ALL WELCOME
Activists from Republican Socialist Action targeted a property in the Springfield Road, West Belfast yesterday evening which is being rented for an astonishing £1980pm by Northern Property.
This follows a trend of parasitic landlords attempting to gentrify working class communities across the North. Our communities simply will not stand for it. The working class will not be displaced from our own areas.
We are up for this fight and encourage all of a like mind to join us in it - Fight for our communities, Fight for our class, Fight gentrification.
Divis/Ardmoulin Protest Shows the Power of Community Action
Over the weekend, the IRSP held a protest at Ardmoulin Terrace in Divis to highlight the ongoing crisis caused by a long-ignored problem property in the area. We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out and stood with us in defence of our community.
The PSNI maintained a presence during the protest. But, as usual, they were nowhere to be seen when the actual anti-social behaviour was happening. That silence speaks for itself. The Housing Executive eventually acted, but only after relentless pressure. And even then, the job was left half done, with the property still accessible to those who had used it to terrorise residents.
Let’s be clear. If this situation had happened anywhere outside Divis or the Lower Falls, it would have been resolved long ago. The only reason any action was taken at all is because the IRSP stepped up, led from the front, and organised real community resistance.
IRSP member Michael Kelly addressed the protest, thanking residents for their solidarity and urging people to learn about the growing threat of gentrification that is displacing working-class communities like ours.
As expected, Sinn Féin were nowhere to be seen. No statement, no visit, no sign of concern. Instead, they were busy attending a talk with the so-called great and good to mark twenty years since IRA decommissioning. Meanwhile, our community continues to suffer today.
They continue to tell residents to phone the PSNI, knowing full well the level of anger and distrust that exists in this area. Let’s not forget that it was not so long ago they stood on platforms beside PSNI Chief George Hamilton and UVF commander Winkie Irvine, all while ignoring the real problems affecting our streets.
The weekend’s protest proved once again that real change does not come from politicians or panels. It comes from ordinary people standing together and refusing to be ignored.
IRSP in Belfast criticise Housing Executive over failure to act on problem property in Lower Falls
The IRSP is highlighting the continued failure of the Housing Executive to take meaningful action against a property in the Ardmoulin Terrace area of Divis that has become a magnet for drug use and ongoing anti-social behaviour.
This house has caused untold stress and disruption to the lives of local residents – including many elderly and vulnerable neighbours – who have every right to feel safe in their homes and on their streets.
As is so often the case, the PSNI have stood by and allowed anti-community elements to run riot, leaving working-class people to pick up the pieces and deal with the fallout.
We are calling on the local community to stand together and raise their voices. Join us tomorrow for a protest at the property as we demand urgent action to protect our neighbourhood and restore a sense of safety and dignity to the area.

IRSP STATEMENT - RELEASE SHEA REYNOLDS
The IRSP are calling on political representatives to demand the immediate release of Irish Republican prisoner Shea Reynolds, who is now entering his seventh year on remand in Maghaberry Gaol without a single conviction.
Shea has spent seven years imprisoned without trial, a clear case of internment by remand, a tactic long used by the British justice system in Ireland to silence political dissent under a legal façade. Despite charges being laid, neither the PSNI, the Public Prosecution Service, nor MI5 have brought the case to trial, nor do they appear to intend to.
We have to ask: why? Why no trial? Why continued denial of bail? And why the insistence on a Diplock Court — a non-jury system that strips away any pretence of a fair hearing?
We’re constantly told that policing and justice in the North are now transparent and accountable. Yet MI5 which maintains operational control over the PSNI through the St Andrews Agreement, answers to no one. It continues to wield unchecked power, imprisoning Irish men and women with impunity.
The silence from our elected representatives is deafening. Whether through cowardice or complicity, their failure to speak out makes them part of the problem, not the solution to ongoing British injustice in Ireland.
🗞IRSP activists were out on Friday evening delivering the latest Starry Plough newsletter around the Lower Falls area.
Great response from locals with plenty of support and good conversations on the doors.
Statement from Republican Socialist Action..
“Republican Socialist activists from in Derry have taken action against yet another property charging an outrageous £900 a month — nearly double the Local Housing Allowance for the area.
@BoruCrypto333 The banking system & state have created the housing crisis.
The landlords, like the parasites they are have utilised it to exploit our most vulnerable for profit.
