@DKatcoff@MakichyanA It's also not islam that drives Turkish foreign policy, but consensus on perceived national interests among the policymakers. Like every other country, FP is a part of statecraft with continuity between different leaders. Whether CHP or AKP, Turkish interests remain similar
@DKatcoff@MakichyanA Genuinely confused what you're talking about. Turkey is VERY pro-West, and most of the issues you cite existed under Kemalists—eg, conflict w Greece is centuries old and the most violent period was under Ataturk himself + Turkey invaded Cyprus with a Kemalist government.
@AMG_season_1993@Gaismair He was raised in the UK, his mom is British, and for a long time he actually spoke Arabic with a British accent. British English is his first language (although Jordanian nationalists, who do exist, always claim this is a lie)
There are real, living, breathing, sentient Jordanian nationalists who will see this and think “Wow, our glorious King really has the Israelis quaking in their boots, what a Lion”.
@AzretMihai6909@aldahriyy@7714_xx@disturbdserpent That was primarily a Turkish practice. There were sporadic instances of Arabs and Berbers enslaving Europeans (like the Barbary pirate raid on Iceland) but it was never a standard practice like it was for the Ottomans
@DOmowale It later turned out he had been a CIA asset working to undermine Nkrumah too. Imagine making a deal like that and still being treated horribly by your benefactor country
@AntoniusOhii@kristoferthomas I mean plenty of great poetry doesn't rhyme or uses irregular verse structures (TS Eliot and such) but this "poem" is clearly not that
@ShriAryans@GhassemiElham@Sarahhuniverse I mean they're not wrong lol. The word "Iran" does come from the word Aryan, which is itself a Farsi term. Regardless of how you view Islam, Iran has still been called that name for thousands of years and its civilization was never fully "arabized" like Iraq/Egypt/etc
My fav crackpot but semi-mainstream belief is the ppl that think the UN is planning to take over the world and is secretly manipulating politics to create a world government. Just looking at how pathetically weak the UN is makes it absurd on its face
@Pvmfee It's played out to say but ppl rlly need to touch grass and try to act like normal human beings. So many internet ppl base their personal ideologies off shitposts over anything else, but they don't even truly "believe" in anything
@fleshsimulator Genuinely one of the funniest fall offs in Weird Internet Guy history. Just going manic on twitter for the entire world to see. Log off or your fate is sealed
