9 foot high Fort Knox style compound going up in Morden Hall Park. Barely tries to blend in to the attractive landscape. Strange choice. @MordenHallPkNT
@MarkGale@Merton_Council@MertonTrees @CentreCourtShop Removing earth pits and replacing with resin right up to tree trunks is a disgrace. Resin’s not permeable as claimed, clogged with dirt, sticky residue, waste, other &is stopping water absorption. Businesses must help grow, not choke, our precious urban trees.
The new @Merton_Council#TreeStrategy where "Establishment and aftercare of newly planted trees" continues to be ignored with no water pipes leaving dead trees on Wimbledon Broadway.
No you have not fixed this! Every time… Stop the lies, I can just look out of my window to see it’s not been done. So bored of this shit show from @VeoliaUK@Merton_Council. @RossGarrod@AJ_Fairclough
@NDIrons @TreesforCities@QueensCanopy@TreesforStreets 6,000 of your 10,000 - that's 60% - are whips at Cranmer Green #Mitcham. Whips are sticks. Not actual trees. Many won't survive. It'll take many years for those which do make it to do anything for the tree canopy or environmental benefit. Please do the good things. Stop spinning
Good this has FINALLY happened after many yrs, but stable door horse bolted etc Graveny, for eg, has a swath of overcrowded HMOs with hugely inadequate waste disposal containment= why areas like Grenfell Rd look filthy & deprived. @Merton_Council Why always reactive never pro? 🤦🏻♂️
@ClaireFry43@MertonBinBot I'm not sure the 2-hour window to put out rubbish the council has come up with will work well for everyone, some people may not work from home so will be unable to pop out the bags between 6pm-8pm!
As @VeoliaUK can't currently manage to collect on a set day, a limited 120 mins🤯
We've asked @Merton_Council to block plans to blight the Conservation Area with new tarmac and yellow hatching around the sensitively converted Mitcham fire station on Lower Green West - the use of paviours and planters provides a much more appropriate approach
#MertonCouncil@Merton_Council should feel ashamed leaving bins almost a month between collections we were assured they would be emptied before Christmas. This is today not to mention the bin bag that's fallen under my bedroom window. My neighbour was hung up on.
@Merton_Council We believe that we have followed all the rules for online engagement agreed by the Local Government Association and would welcome @cllr_alambritis getting in touch if he feels otherwise or unblocking us to support public debate
Anyone else in Merton find that @fixmystreet only sometimes results in action from @VeoliaUK? Pic 1 - 4th Jan. Pic 2 - 19th April. Pic 3 - 29th November. Reported so many times, I've lost count! #StHelierWard
The Conservatives have put forward a motion calling for Merton Council to convene a ‘Merton Assembly’ to allow for full public scrutiny of any future waste and street cleaning contract that Merton Labour proposes to enter.
This bin costs thousands of pounds because it alerts @Merton_Council & @VeoliaUK that it is full.
Yet it so rarely emptied that its almost always in this state... (Breaking the contract that should invoke fines if the council ever enforced of the contract). #MuckyMerton
