Half a world away in Azerbaijan at the @COP29_AZ Ocean Pavilion, @WHOI Research Associate Kalina Grabb is using ResilientWoodsHole as an example of how to address coastal climate resilience at the community level. Like nature, our work is part of a greater ecosystem where we share ideas and build upon successes together.
The COP Ocean Pavilion was started by WHOI and @scripps_ocean at COP27 in Egypt and continues today under their leadership. It seeks to raise the profile and understanding of the role that the ocean plays in climate and to share the science behind it in an engaging way.

Looks like rain on Friday and Monday but the weekend is looking pretty nice for November! How about a late fall stroll through the village of Woods Hole on our Climate Walking Trail? Learn about how flooding impacts our community, and what forward-thinking minds are doing to adapt. There are 13 stops in all, including stop number 8 at @MBLScience 's Lillie Lab.
This facility is named after Frank R. Lillie, director of the Marine Biological Laboratory from 1908 to 1925. Today it hosts many long-term biological research projects. It's the site of some new techniques for flood-proofing at-risk structures. Learn more on the Climate Walking Trail app.

Just released: the 8th #CopernicusMarine#OceanStateReport provides an overview of ocean climate and ocean health.
It finds an ocean characterized by increased warming, melting sea ice, widespread marine heatwaves, and an extreme phytoplankton bloom.
