The Beginning
While we in Gaza were confronting a savage aggression overflowing with Talmudic hatred and Nazi-like behavior, and while we waited every moment for the heavy destructive and incendiary bombs to strike us unexpectedly, we watched with deep pain the American-Zionist aggression against a Muslim country that had stood by us, supporting us, defending our rights, and helping us confront Zionist oppression and American arrogance.
They sought to demolish its buildings, kill its people, and destroy its capabilities. As we followed the news of scientists, military commanders, and political leaders being targeted, one name among those great men caught my attention. It left me wondering and thinking, repeating to myself: Could it really be him?
Then I would return to praying that it was not him.
Only a few hours later, the truth was revealed. The news was heavy, as heavy as the role he had played in supporting the Resistance for more than two decades.
The reader may ask: Who was this man?
He was a man I came to know twenty years ago. He devoted himself and his time for the sake of God. He lived as a Mujahid for Al-Quds and Palestine. I testify that he was a man of character and faith. He thought deeply, planned carefully, built quietly, and struggled with determination.
The Zionist enemy did not overlook him and never ceased pursuing him. He was the man who stood proudly on the mountains of southern Syria, looking toward Palestine with his own eyes, as though saying: “We are coming, God willing.”
Then he stood in defiance on the shores of Naqoura in Lebanon, declaring: “We will shatter your dreams, O usurping occupiers.”
At times he remained stationed in Damascus, at others in Beirut. His concern was always Al-Quds and Palestine, until he succeeded in accomplishing what seemed like miracles, deeds that immortalized his memory after his passing.
Indeed, the poet spoke truthfully of him:
“Be such a man that when people come after him,
they will say: ‘He passed this way, and this is his legacy.’”
He was the man loved by the Supreme Leader of the Iranian Revolution, the martyr Sayyid Ali Khamenei, may Allah have mercy on him, who reserved a special place for him in his heart. He frequently praised him and his work on the Palestine file, to the extent that he never replaced him and kept him in his position until Allah chose him for martyrdom.

First Deputy Speaker Calls for a Unified Islamic Position to Protect the Nation’s Causes and Enhance Integration Among Islamic States
In Iraq’s speech delivered during the proceedings of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku, Faihan said that what the Palestinian territories are subjected to, particularly the Gaza Strip and Al-Quds Al-Shareef, the aggressions on Lebanon, and the American/Zionist war on the Islamic Republic of Iran represent a flagrant violation of international law and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region.
He called for adopting a unified Islamic position that preserves the sovereignty of Islamic states, safeguards the interests of their peoples, contributes to ending tension and escalation among the region’s countries, and rejects external interferences and excessive reliance on foreign powers to resolve disputes.

The Iraqi parliamentary delegation, headed by the First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mr. Adnan Fayhan Al-Dulaimi, officially registered its reservation regarding certain provisions of the “Baku Declaration” issued at the 20th Session of the Conference of the Union of Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.
In an official memorandum addressed to the Union’s General Secretariat, the delegation reaffirmed Iraq’s steadfast and unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. It expressed its reservation regarding the reference to the “two-state solution” in the form contained in the declaration, in accordance with the legislation and resolutions adopted by the Iraqi Council of Representatives supporting the establishment of the Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital, while guaranteeing the Palestinian people’s right of return and the right to compensation.
The Iraqi delegation also called for the inclusion of its proposals to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy through the establishment of joint mediation committees aimed at bridging differences among member states, contributing to political solutions for regional crises and preventing the region from suffering the consequences of international conflicts.
The delegation further requested that its reservation be officially recorded in the conference’s documents and minutes. At the same time, it expressed its appreciation to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Union’s General Secretariat for their hospitality, organization, and the successful conduct of the conference.
