63 years ago today, John Brodeur suffered a shark bite off Sea Girt, NJ, which @GregSkomal and I argue in CHASING SHADOWS (@WmMorrowBooks) was the most consequential shark incident to date in the western North Atlantic insofar as shark science was concerned.

This is a mount of the first white shark @GregSkomal saw in the flesh. It was 1983 in Mystic, CT, and last night, Greg and I presented our book CHASING SHADOWS (@WmMorrowBooks) to a full house at an event hosted by @mysticaquarium and @livingsharks. Full circle moment!
