@fjpenney It almost seems too good to be true, I donโt think Iโve seen any established systematic trader out there publishing a system with a Calmar of 2.23 and yet a cagr so high, at least thatโs not some overfit job. Had better run it through 2008-09, make sure it doesnโt wipe you out!
If you invest in any way and you donโt know what the Calmar ratio is, I suggest you visit my site. The Calmar ratio essentially tells you if your method suits your psychology and life stage. Learn more at โThe Retirement Portfolioโ.
๐ฉ One statistic I always look for before trusting any backtest:
Daily maximum drawdown.
Many strategies only quote month-end drawdowns, which can make declines appear much smaller than investors actually experienced.

The biggest risk to your retirement isn't low returns.
It's the drawdown you don't recover from.
That's the philosophy behind my new publication, The Retirement Portfolio.

@VeganRecovering You the poster and most people in the comments have no idea what you are talking about auto immune disease causes stomach acidity to fall which impedes iron absorption so it has nothing to do with diet. Stop promoting crap just because you had a experience that is not related
Remember when we told for years the market is too concentrated on the mag7 and when they go it all tumbles down and etf investors are screwedโฆ well, oh
@thechartist When you quote a MAR ratio for your monthly systems, is this based on the worst drawdown at month end? Ie month end might be only say 8% down but in the middle of that month the peak was say 12% down, thanks
