@Gonzossm@Steamworks I waited 14 days just to get rejected because of the mature content disclaimer on the store page not being descriptive enough for them.
My GAME build failed because of something on the STORE page.
Steam is literally the greatest gaming platform on Earth and no one else even comes close. They just did the most thorough check on my game I think I've ever seen. They detailed everything from inputs to making sure different launch commands work as they should. They even check if your game requires common redistribs and let you know which ones it needs.
They definitely do their part to check for all of these things. The problem comes afterwards. Games don't get a human test after the initial release so it's possible to get the game approved and then release an update down the line that has the malware in it.
It's really to say some shit like "it would be great if they could catch these things before they go live" but you don't even know how it works or the consequence of what you're asking for.
If a human at valve had to check every update then games would be left with critical bugs for weeks maybe even months until someone gets to them. All because of one headline where the FBI was notified and the culprit was found.
Come on AI guy, use your brain.
Almost 2 weeks waiting for approval from Steam and now my game will likely be pushed back beyond Halloween. Not good for a horror game. Gabe giveth, and Gabe taketh away. #NextFest#indiedev
@Yuriruex You called a fan made work shitty, compared it to an official production, said it was AI when it isn't, insulted people outside of Japan and claimed they don't understand animation, and now you're going to apologize as if you didn't realize you were being a terrible person?
lol
Steam Next Fest is facing huge backlash over the rise of AI-slop and low-effort games.
The October event has 8,011 demos, nearly twice as many as June., developers say the flood of low-quality “AI slop” is making it harder for real indie games worth to play
Back in June, roughly 1 in 5 games at Steam Next Fest disclosed using AI. Now, just a few months later, that number has jumped to around 1 in 3.
Some developers have even avoided public demos because they fear their games could be copied.
I ordered a pizza for my 18th birthday because no one else remembered. I was pretty bummed out by that but then i grew up and made a fuckin horror game wishlist it on steam right here brother https://t.co/nMDxF4DgC1
Konami Producer Motoi Okamoto says the game may turn out to be the "masterpiece" of the Silent Hill franchise.
he believed Townfall will be lauded by the gaming press and wider community when it launches later this month, and that the Scotland-set entry may be the best title yet
