The Miami Mall Alien Incident was supposed to be a cover-up—until a 10ft shifting shadow creature tore through Bayside Marketplace. With three hours before the city is leveled with napalm, Snake Plissken is sent in to pull out the Governor’s daughter.

@calmrisewild@SEGA_OFFICIAL Thanks for the comment! I feed the boards directly as a timed animatic video reference, very similar to standard 2D/3D studio pipelines. No heavy prompting either—just simple timestamp notes to guide the cuts and beats! 🎬✨
@BDFrankHoubre I feed the full turnaround sheet once everything is drawn. Same standard pipeline used in 2D animation studios—locking all the orthographic views on a single sheet is the best way to keep proportions and volume from drifting.
Actually did the Grease Pencil blockout first, rendered out the stills, and imported those into Storyboard Pro! It’s the exact same workflow I’ve used in TV animation and AAA games with 3D environment blockouts in Maya or Unreal—lock the 3D space first, then build the boards on top.
@pet7v2q77jbiteb Mostly sent as-is, minus a few setup scenes I'm still holding back! Only real revisions were fixing the masked thug’s head angle for clear eyelines and simplifying a few over-detailed drawings so the model could read the video reference cleanly. 👊✨
The Revenge of Shinobi (SEGA) 🥷 Test run using a hand-drawn board-to-AI pipeline.
Seedance tracked my rough animatic remarkably close. Any small drifts came down to how loose my sketches were—just like traditional 2D production: if your board isn't crystal clear when sent to an overseas studio, the final animation will deviate.
Huge bonus of feeding hand-drawn animatics: you can finally capture that stepped, Spider-Verse rhythm. Video models naturally default to overly smooth motion, but timing your boards on 2s and 3s forces the render to respect that punchy, stylized cadence.

@screenweaver_ai Fed the animatic straight in as a video reference shot by shot! Feeding the timed video is the secret sauce—that’s what forces the model to honor the frame holds on 2s and 3s. Appreciate you noticing the timing! 🎬🥋
@popcorndotmovie Appreciate it! Seeing that side-by-side tracking really proves how much heavy lifting the boards do. A full stage cut or a classic boss fight is super tempting—right now I'm testing out a few combat beats to see how far the workflow goes, so we'll see where it leads! 👊🔥
100% on the reroll savings! For this short, I just pulled stills from the blockout/visdev pass since the pacing is slower and more atmospheric. If it’s high-energy action like a car chase, that’s when I feed the animatic directly as a video reference. Currently testing out that storyboard-to-video workflow on a fight scene next!
Btw, just caught Lost Garden Ep 1 on YT—really love the character work and design style! 🎬✨
Appreciate that! The rough Grease Pencil/Storyboard Pro pass is super quick—just loose sketches to lock spatial staging and camera moves. Honestly, drawing it by hand is way faster than rolling prompts to get the right framing. Once that foundation was locked, Seedance nailed the render in a couple of minutes on pass one. Front-loading the staging saves hours of re-rolling! 🦔
