🏆 Birth of Duncan Edwards (1936):
Born in Dudley, Edwards became one of the greatest and most powerful players of his generation as one of the legendary "Busby Babes" before tragically passing away following the 1958 Munich air disaster.

Duncan Edwards remains one of the greatest "what-ifs" in football history.

Making his debut for Manchester United at just 16 in 1953, the powerhouse utility player quickly became the heart of Matt Busby's legendary "Busby Babes." Edwards possessed a rare combination of immense physical strength, elite passing, and ferocious shooting, which helped guide United to consecutive First Division titles in 1956 and 1957. He made 177 appearances and scored 21 goals for the club. Tragically, his astronomical rise was cut short at age 21 when he passed away from injuries sustained in the 1958 Munich air disaster.
