@jimthegiant Probs gonna have to stop using this site.
The people on here are literally insane. The vile thoughts people come out with. Never seen one of these people irl because they're actually pussies.
Some people are using their real name which is wild.
@MartinSLewis Income inequality is fine though.
Wealth inequality is the issue.
Income tax is too high. But also too thinly spread.
Wealth taxes are too low.
Alan sugar buys the same amount of cereal as the average consumer.
Supermarkets should be begging for a wealth tax.
@jimthegiant Percentage property tax now.
Business rates are still on the old system and the lack of a proper property tax has made the "rentable value" increase disproportionately.
If you want the high street back you need to tax land owners more.
@jimthegiant It's nothing to do with the returns Jimmy.
The reason for them is diversification. The more you have the more it becomes worth it to own different assets.
For a country. The most beneficial would be if the workers had more disposable income that was invested in businesses.
@jimthegiant Employment income is not that unequal and taxed too highly.
What needs to be done will disadvantage London and old people.
Annual % based property tax to replace council tax, business rates, stamp duty
NI rolled into income tax (old people, landlords will now pay)
Word limit.
@jimthegiant Equal responsibility? 800kg of metal vs 1 squishy 60-100kg human. This is the most hilarious take I've ever heard.
I wonder if anyone who's been smushed on the pavement ever wondered why they weren't more responsible.
@justaphag6@AverageJayX You're wasting your time. They want grandchildren but many refuse to actually promote the conditions required to have a family. How many old people raised 1 child in an apartment, let alone 3. I'm guessing close to 1% of anyone over 60.
@yorak269@justaphag6 Pretty sure pensioners are the least educated cohort. Especially during their working life. They cannot have had free uni "because hardly anyone went" and be the most educated. Those two statements are contradictory.
@blaiklockBP Percentage based tax on property can be used to replace stamp duty, council tax and business rates. You only need 0.5% to cover that.
You could adjust it up to 1% and take the equivalent amount off of national insurance until it hits zero.
@jimthegiant The combinations are going to be endless, i doubt anyone will get a majority.
