“It is a fact that we each Sunday profess our faith in the One Holy and Catholic Church. But how do our parish church and our Church of Sweden relate to the universal Christ’s Church, the name of which we really are entitled to spell with a capital C?”
~ Bishop St. Bo Giertz
@becomelutheran@DarthHarryson It highlights why preaching should be about Jesus and focused on the text. It’s never about us or about our opinions. Fortunately, the Me Generation is headed to the glue factory with increasing velocity.
@ion_eyes@DarthHarryson The best construction is that it’s a kind of inside joke with the parish. He should not have removed it from the service. This is a reminder a pastor shouldn’t be a dumbasses, make the sermon about himself, and do the boomer thing of turning everything into a joke. Be reverent.
She doesn’t believe that Jesus is here. She doesn’t believe Scripture. Why should she believe murder is not a virtue?
“Without God, all things are permissible.”
~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Bill Maher asks how Mississippi is kicking California’s ass in education, and Texas is “blowing them away” in green energy for “way less money.”
“Did you know that a black fourth grader in Mississippi is two and a half times as likely to be proficient in math and reading as one in California? Mississippi is kicking our ass in education and for way less money. We’re 37th in fourth-grade reading, they’re ninth.”
“Texas is kicking our ass in green energy. The average time to get solar panels connected there is three to four months. About 1,000 days faster than it took me. Remember when I was trying to get my solar hooked up? It would have been quicker to build a windmill.”
“Texas has passed California in solar and blows away California when it comes to wind and energy storage. How does a state with no pro-climate policies produce better climate results than a state where here, even though we have so much better bumper stickers on our Priuses?”
“I’ll tell you why. Because you’re allowed to build there because every third person in Texas isn’t someone whose job it is to make sure nothing gets done.”
“Democrats, these are your issues: education, race, the environment.”
“And I say this with love: you’re losing to the Waffle House, car-on-the-lawn states.”
Of course, her religion is her own sexual traits and desires rather than preaching and confessing Christ, the cross, His atoning blood, His resurrection and His Word that brings everlasting life. What a shallow and sad religion. She seems terribly unhappy and unfulfilled.
"I'm not exactly a woman, but sometimes I round up to woman. And I'm White"
Lutheran pastrix (they/them) gives the REAL history of female ordination in the ELCA church.
At some point, judges and politicians who refuse to protect the citizenry, but instead put the innocent at risk, will need to be tried and long-dropped.

I’d like to see Elgar’s *Pomp and Circumstance* played solemnly as fists and chairs are flying. I’m sure the Internet can make that happen. 🧑🎓
