If there was ever a doubt that the Council of Bishops do not plan to have any more disaffiliations after 2023, Bickerton's speech should nail that box closed.
Bickerton notes the disaffiliation plan ends on Dec. 31, 2023.
"Can we not name it and proclaim that Jan. 1, 2024, is the beginning of a period of jubilee?" #UMC
@bluesawadeshoes We celebrated Saint Nicholas Day on Dec 6th and gave them socks, chocolate coins, and smaller gifts. Then we had permission to not disregard Santa, but at the same time make Christmas about Jesus. We said that the other "santas" we just impressionists like their fav superheroes.
@RitterChris I am not sure that give this a heart is the right response, but I agree. My daughter who was also in the room definitely agreed with this statement. It was good to "see" Andy there, I only wish that we could have caught up.

@RyanNDanker I was told that I should connect with you while we are at New Room to discuss some Wesleyan/Methodist History questions that I have. Reach out if you are interested 812-972-5819
@methodistmonk Is Deborah Wallace-Padgett not a traditionalist? Frank Beard is, but he will retire by 2024. He just isn't making it easy for churches to leave in IGRC.
@dcushmanwood Thank you for bringing this to light. I have known Bishop Khegay for a while and I appreciate his work. We do have some positive things to support as UMs.
