If your opponents have never tried to smear you, ridicule you, discredit you, bankrupt you, silence you, imprison you or murder you, they don't fear you or see you as a threat.
It's worth keeping that in mind when deciding which of the people on your team you should value.
@Innealadair@holyroodmandy The Sun opposed the SNP (pre-2007), then supported them until 2021, now oppose them again. So pretty much the opposite of Groundhog Day.
@JujuliaGrace Explain it to me like I’m stupid.
- You think migrants are great.
- They have to live SOMEWHERE.
- So why is it bad to put them in the places most likely to look kindly on them, ie Green-voting places?
What would you be protesting about, exactly?
@FuriousBanshee@AlessandraAster@RoseFashion191 Are you people idiots? Allow me to share a certain degree of expertise here: if you sue someone for defamation and lose, it doesn’t matter what anyone said in court. Your costs and theirs (which you’ll have to pay) will be astronomical. It cost me £220,000.
@LuciferJon8660@MhairiHunter Absolutely none, you tedious thick sack of shit. She was never even questioned over any offence, let alone charged or convicted.
When ideology collides with reality.
A woman who publicly identifies as a dog was attacked by an actual dog. It's a strange moment that raises a bigger question: when society blurs the line between identity and reality, what happens when the real world pushes back?
Reality doesn't care about trends, hashtags, or feelings. The world still runs on truth, biology, and consequences.
Sometimes the most uncomfortable moments expose how far culture has drifted from common sense.
