If you live in #Leeds and like @nickcave, I will be talking God and Nick Cave at the Canary Bar in the Docks on Monday (9th Oct) at 7.30. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts....
Does music inspire your faith? We'll be talking about just that tomorrow at Views on the Dock. Join us at The Canary Bar, and head to our website for a taster of tomorrow's discussion: https://t.co/cwDNuqmHZJ

@RevTankard bumps into God at a rock gig in a former Methodist church, and ponders what we can learn about the sacred and profane from the search for transcendence through music.

Interesting, recent piece by @RevTankard on common ground between rock concerts and worship:
The goodness of (profane) worship! https://t.co/JaRSepnldw
@LeedsCofE This is wonderful news, and I offer the prayerful support of the Methodist District in Yorkshire West @YWMethodist for you and your new role.
@PsalterMark@AKMA Thanks for the piece on Seven Psalms. Not your focus, but also interesting is that the album comes with a prayer card, not your normal inclusion. If you have not come across it, you may also be interested in "Litanies", Nick wrote the lyrics for Nicholas Lens' music.
@snazzyDeacon @MethodistGB Agreed. It needs to be about participation and not simply representation. The former can do good, while the latter can just look good. As a Chair, I regularly challenge myself to notice what I cannot see, and try and let myself be challenged/alerted by others.
@snazzyDeacon @MethodistGB In one way, this week, we already have made some steps. After appointing Sonia, as the new Chair of the Council, you will see her a lot next year. Also, I realise Daleep hasn't presented any SRC business this year.
@cawhitworth @THE_NATVRAL @HPBCLeeds They were stunning live. What impressed me was how much passion there was tonight in a solo performance. Genuinely moving.
I am not sure there can be many nicer, and as gifted, musicians out there as Kip of @THE_NATVRAL Great to chat with him tonight at @HPBCLeeds and listen to his humble and intimate sharing of his songs. Thank you.

@RevTankard ponders the church as art, and suggests that as we become less, we somehow become more... Intrigued? Check it out...
