Abusive language such as this must not be tolerated, regardless of whether it is said in private or in public. With two MPs murdered in recent years, comments like this have a real impact on politicians and their loved ones and are totally unacceptable.
(2/2)
Frank Hester's comments about Diane Abbott are abhorrent. His comments highlight the appalling targeted abuse, rooted in sexism and racism, that black and ethnic minority women in politics receive on a daily basis.
(1/2)
'We want immediate action to support those in post and those standing to tackle intimidation of our politicians to ensure more people will enter and take part'. Great cross-party recommendations from @JoCoxFoundation@Jacqui_Smith1
