Pravachana Thilagam Dr. U. Ve. Venkatesh's discourse at @kalyananagar Association #Mandavelipakkam was truly engaging and impactful:
✨ Deep Dive into Bliss: Dr. U. Ve. Venkatesh on "Aanmeekam Anandame"
Yesterday’s discourse by Dr. U. Ve. Venkatesh was a masterclass—a "doctor's prescription" for the soul, written in brilliantly clear and easy-to-practice language! He decoded why Spirituality (Aanmeekam) is true Bliss (Anandam).
Aanmeekam is our daily routine rooted in the soul (Aathma), not materialism. It is the individual soul (#Jeevatma) serving the Supreme Soul (#Paramatma) through selfless acts (thonduseythal).
3 Components of a Spiritual Life:
* We are not the Body: Transcending physical existence to feel the Jeevatma.
* Athmavin Thanmai: Recognizing the soul's nature—it exists solely to serve Paramatma.
* Practice: Living this truth through devotion and service.
The Coffee & Sugar Analogy:
Jeevatma’s purpose is to serve Paramatma, just like sugar dissolving completely in coffee—creating a unified, blissful state. This is the essence of joy!
7 Characteristics of True #Aanmeegam #ஆன்மீகம் (#Bliss):
1) Unlimited Bliss: Infinite, real joy (not chittrinbam). Compared to limited worldly joy, this is 10^{20} units of happiness! Temple visits are always energizing, not tiring and is growing as seen today!
2) Internal Source: It comes from within, not from external #Lowkeegam (worldly pleasures) (Ref:Chandogya Upanishad).
3) Proper Bliss: Righteous, untainted #happiness achieved through selfless service (kainkaryam) (Ref: Sreebashyam).
4) No Sorrow: Pure happiness free of suffering (Ref: Shandilya Upanishad).
5) Easily Attainable: Simple acts, like a sincere namaskaram (obeisance), bring spiritual joy.
6) Permanent: It is eternal and enduring
7) Inclusive: Aanmeekam includes Lowkeegam, but Lowkeegam cannot encompass Aanmeekam!
The Takeaway:
Aanmeekam is the pursuit of infinite, internal, righteous, and permanent bliss through soulful service. It is easily accessible and surpasses all worldly pleasures. He ended up with “ஆன்மீகமே ஆனந்தம்” …only spiritually is true bliss…

This Indian #tree seen at @ParmarthNiketan#Rishikesh known as the #Kalpavriksha in some parts of India. It's often mistaken for the African baobab but is native to India and Africa, and is revered in many cultures.
Key Characteristics
* Unique Trunk: The most striking feature of the Indian baobab is its massive, swollen trunk, which can store large amounts of water. This adaptation allows the tree to survive in dry, arid climates. In the provided image, the trunk is wrapped in colorful cloth, indicating its sacred status.
* Cultural Significance: The baobab is known as the kalpavriksha, or #wishing tree, in #Hindu and #Buddhist traditions. It's considered a celestial, wish-fulfilling divine tree, which is why it's often adorned with sacred threads and offerings, as seen.
* Medicinal Uses: Various parts of the tree, including its leaves, fruit, and bark, are used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments.
* Fruit: The tree produces a large, hard-shelled fruit with a dry, powdery pulp that is rich in vitamin C.
The tree's presence near the shrine and its decorated trunk suggest that it is a significant part of the local religious or spiritual landscape.
