POV: The exit of Bishops and Dioceses from X has been surprisingly good for Anglican Twitter… less grandiose point scoring in front of a hoped for purple audience, more information sharing. Some interesting people left on here.
@MadsDavies Imagine if the HoL responsibilities were taken up by a handful of recently retired bishops given a peerage on merit…
Just back from visiting a diocese in Uganda with 700 churches (70 newly planted), 50000+ children and young people, 80000+adults and one bishop.
Oh Uganda, 🇺🇬 may God uphold thee!
Over these two days of presidential elections, the internet has been shut down. Lord God we pray for peace and safety for our families, friends and the entire nation. Amen.
Don't post on here much anymore but so ashamed and appalled by the shocking, deadly abuse in Africa that is described so vividly in Episode 2 of #SeeNoEvil#Channel4 that could have been stopped after the also horrible, horrible abuse described in Episode 1. Horrific colonialism
rarely on here anymore, but catching up on the news in #gaza after being away, and horrified at how horrific it all is and amazed how normalised and ignored it all is. Retweets below commenting on destruction of Anglican hospital & from GB council of Jews and Rest is Politics
Anglican provinces have shared messages of solidarity and peace in the wake of the air strike on al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza City.
Responding to the messages of support, Suhaila Tarazi - Director of al-Ahli Hospital said:
"Thank you for your heartfelt messages and unwavering support during this challenging time... Despite the destruction, our dedicated team is working tirelessly to restore essential services and continue providing care to the community. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, al-Ahli remains a vital lifeline for Gaza City and the northern region, and we are committed to maintaining our operations to the best of our abilities. Your solidarity, prayers, heartfelt thoughts, and kind words are a source of strength for all of us here. We deeply appreciate your concern and support."
Those sharing messages of support include The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East; the Archbishop of York in the Church of England and the Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church.

👇powerful.
You can both SUPPORT Israel...
and totally CONDEMN Netanyahu's appalling handling of the Gaza War.
He demonstrates tactics without strategy.
Utility of superior force but without a plan for stability.
Now 2m Palestinians are suffering -too weak to take on HAMAS.
Bishop Bev Mason has waited 510 days to even begin to see the possibility of her complaint of sexual harassment being investigated. If it wasn't for the media and others bringing all of this into the light, she would still be waiting.
Stephen Cottrell is the Archbishop of York and ultimately responsible for this. At any point in the last 510 days, he could have launched a proper inquiry.
He chose not to. On every single one of those 510 days he chose not to have a proper inquiry.
This whole affair brings shame upon the @churchofengland.
Cottrell should resign right now, and so should any Bishop who has suggested that the process so far has been appropriate or proper.
What gets me is that *he knew*. He knew last year that the story about the Bishop of Liverpool would definitely come out. He knew for sure. And he still presented himself as the one through whom reform for the Church of England could come about.
The Bishop of Warrington, the Rt Revd Bev Mason, has written a pastoral letter stating that she is the woman bishop who raised concerns about the Bishop of Liverpool.
#ArchbishopDoes the CoE need a West Wing moment? Wrote this a couple of weeks ago... is it time for a Supremes Episode approach & appoint a new #Archbishop of Canterbury and York at the same time... https://t.co/mA7CSdMit3
Text version of the investigation by @steveswannBBC and myself into the case leading to calls for the resignation of the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell (who takes interim charge of the Church of England on 6th Jan) https://t.co/HiiimYLP5o
@MadsDavies@talkChristianly also shows greatest support among conservative and leave voters (both of whom had little voice in the HoB) - presumably ostracising our base? Interestingly unfavourables are fairly even across the age groups as well, while favourables depletes from older-younger.
I'm not often on X these days, but always delighted to get a mention from @talkChristianly when I pop on... and he's right that if you want to critique @churchofengland vision and strategy you really want to be pointing to a dependency on the Spirit of Holiness. #comeholyspirit
@ajdbond Thanks, I agree (and my longing is about how this then permeates the wider church!). Am grateful to @RevdRich for mentioning the Awaken podcast during this conversation - I've been listening since and have been enjoying it (largely!)
