Australia’s first wire-free light rail system passed its initial test last night with a light rail vehicle driven along Hunter St under its own power

In the wee hours of this morning we welcomed home the 2nd of our fleet of 6 light rail vehicles. LRV2 is now safely in the depot and will start testing straight away. The delivery took a little longer than planned, however Hunter St has now reopened. LRV3 is due Thursday morning

We used 23 tonnes of sand on Saturday night to perform 'crush testing', which involved simulating the light rail vehicle being full of passengers and testing for ride comfort and safety
