@jewndahalfmen It's why talking about being the 5th largest economy is meaningless when you can see the direction we are going in. Things collapse slowly then all at once. It's not unreasonable to worry that things can get a lot worse at a quicker pace.
@jewndahalfmen Would also be interesting to know the relationship between the two officers. If he was more senior and she was new to the force it puts a lot more pressure on the male officer imo.
You would never do this if it was the other way around. When a white man is murdered and the police don't care because of his race, the issue is the anti-White racism, not the "far-right" for pointing it out.
@ursine_meeting Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate, you're not going to complain about anti-White racism are you? Wouldn't want to cause division. Not very patriotic mate.
@LemanWalters Just another way of using our morals against us. Nowak family issues a classy statement and now all the usual suspects can use that to sweep anti-White racism under the rug.
Has to be a bit embarrassing when you have to do two sentence reviews in one week, no? Maybe a suggestion that the sentencing guidelines are too lenient.
🚨 NEW: The Attorney General’s office is considering reviewing the 21 year minimum life sentence given to Vickrum Digwa under the unduly lenient sentence scheme
What about the reports you were abusing the Novak family in the courtroom yesterday? Not buying this at all. The mother and brother tried to cover it up!
🚨 BREAKING: The family of Vickrum Digwa has apologised to Henry Nowak’s family and to the Sikh community for bringing it into “disrepute”
“The loss of a young life is a grief that no family should ever have to carry. We are deeply sorry for the pain and suffering the Nowak family has had to endure.
"We love Vickrum. We will continue to love him. That love does not stand in opposition to the sorrow we feel for the Nowak family. Both are real, and both will remain with us for the rest of our lives.
"We would give anything to turn back time so the path of both Henry and Vickrum never crossed that night. We cannot change what has happened, we just hope that no further pain is caused in its name.
"We apologise to the Sikh community for our son’s actions which have unfairly brought the community into disrepute.
"We ask that this tragedy is not used by anyone to inflame division or hostility towards any community.
"We now ask for privacy as we come to terms with what lies ahead”
In those sort of corrupt third world countries, you'd at least be allowed to try and get your bike or phone back yourself without them stopping you. Here, our police get offended and will stop you from doing so, even though they also won't do it.
Britain is the only country whereby it is completely accepted that police don’t solve crime.
Other countries have corrupt police But this is usually a fairly transactional Third World thing. Only in Britain, the demand to recover property is met with incredulity.
This an awful, shocking case.
Henry’s loved ones have gone through the trauma of a long trial and endured Henry's killer making up appalling claims about their son who was thoughtful, kind and deeply loved.
It is right that the IOPC is investigating the police’s response to his senseless murder. And we must end the cycle of tragedy by tackling the horror of knife crime.
Henry’s family, friends, his university and the city of Southampton will continue to feel his loss, and our thoughts will always be with them.
But my feeling is, has it? I worry it is going to be a lot like the grooming gangs. I just still don't feel the wider public and politicians have really acknowledged the 40 years of massive institutional racism and cover up regarding what went on (and is still going on.) Even when it gets talked about I just don't feel like the full gravitas is being understood. Although maybe I'm wrong.
@kafkaswife With incidents like this and 40 years of grooming gang cover ups is it even controversial at this point to say that the biggest victims of institutional racism have been white people?
@levelsio Don't browsers expose this setting? You should be able to detect that. At least in Firefox, I can set websites appearance but it is up to the website whether to honour it.
