Thanks for 12 years of Destiny! Met cool people and had memorable moments on the game. What's your favorite Destiny 2 memory?

Who made this
Real talk: had some discussion with the team about getting a Zorpalod in the game. Ghost projection or some silly execution.
Folks were on board. Sadly ran out of time.

Before we dig in, we wanted to take a moment to thank you. Seeing your reactions has been really moving to us.
Frankly, we wouldn't be here without you... and the way you continue to show up for this world means more than we can fully put into words.
Every memory and every moment you've shared with us over the years has fueled our future. Every ounce of our June update is for you, and we hope you feel it as you continue to read through our insight articles and upcoming TWIDs, let alone when you're playing the update with us on June 9.
Yeah, it's a bit sappy and sentimental... but that's how we're feeling while reading all of your stories over the last week. We hope to keep building worlds to inspire friendship for years to come and truly couldn't do it without you and your voices.
Again, thank you for being here and for sticking with us.
All right, let's get to the goods. Our second Dev Insights about the upcoming Monument of Triumph update covers changes to...
🔫 Exotic and Legendary weapons, tier upgrading, and crafting
7️⃣ Reworked artifacts and anti-Champion counters
🟣 Vendors, focusing, and attunement
👀 and more!
@Wingmeals@bunbunemmy there's always clashing opinions but the influence 1 dev has can be negated by a team or by other devs, while the influence of 1 manager is negated by nobody
@Wingmeals@bunbunemmy yeah i'd love to have a world where everyone's in peace and harmony but we gotta prioritize correctly. it's intentional that devs are put in the spotlight so that they receive all the blame energy and the management just gets "yeah ig they suck too"
@Wingmeals@bunbunemmy Not that the div nerf didn't rightfully upset some people, but this is like blaming the dog for tracking mud while your roommate burns the house down. it just doesn't seem fair to throw up my hands and say "well i guess both my dog and roommate are why the house sucks rn"
@HoweNasty the decision making pipeline makes it so easy for managers to make decisions without feeling any of it's weight. they would not make them if they were surrounded by a crowd of players, but from a secluded mansion or isolated office, decisions lose their weight to the decider
@CalicoFlo the point of the argument is that the consequences should fall on the problem people. in capitalism, if a company does badly, the workers are laid off. a smaller spotlight on management makes it easier for them to get away with it, and hits workers with misguided blame.
@Wingmeals@bunbunemmy well yeah "just dont use it" is a bad excuse, like how any excuse after an obviously shitty decision is a bad excuse, but they have to show management "we're taking steps to meet these goals!" internally so what are they supposed to say lol "yeah it was nerfed bc thats my job"
To be frank, there are a lot of reasons that it couldn’t make it in. Timelines, bandwidth, complexity of the content & rebuilding it, etc.
It’s a bummer, but a quick thought involving your note on Final Shape timing would be “Would you have been happy with losing over half of Edge of Salvation and dampening final battles with the Witnessin exchange for Wrath”
Some players would have been chill with it, sure - but it’s not the path we chose. Gamedev is a constant give and take. We’re always trying to make the right choices for players and deliver dope content. Sometimes we just can’t hit every single thing.
@Wingmeals@bunbunemmy pete will tell the next level down “prioritize money” so that person will tell the next level down “work on xyz thing” (that they think will make money) so on so forth. eventually the telephone chain results in minor things being pushed to the side and “major” things prioritized
the WOKE and ANARCHIST left has truly gone TOO FAR with their so called “activism”. now They are even trying to cancel EATING FOOD! seriously!! can a working class white man even eat a Big Mac in this GAY and QUEER awoken left BIDEN country anymore??! @Troganmouse shame on you!!
Did some research on the Division 2 and they ended up reversing their decision to end live service after their player numbers exploded during their next update launch. Please man I’m begging let this happen to Destiny 2.
