We all have our own lives — work, family, responsibilities — but sometimes, something greater demands our attention.
A life has been taken far too soon, and it has shattered everything around it.

I’ve taken this deeply to heart.

I can’t stop hearing her voice, crying out for help — a voice that, tragically, no one in our community heard in time.

That pain stays with me.

Despite my busy schedule, I’ve continued to speak with the media because her story must be heard.

We need #justice for this #Afghan woman, and we need strong support from both #federal and #state #governments to ensure her children are placed safely with their blood relatives — and that they are heard, too.

This is not the time for shame, or for chasing headlines.
This is the time to raise our voices for someone who can no longer speak — and to make sure we truly hear her now😭

The young mother of two so brutally murdered — police allege — at the hands of her husband and his brother.

We know one woman is killed in Australia every week.

Last month, we lost twice as many.

We light another candle… another life lost.
Another #woman taken by #domesticviolence.

It feels like it will never end. No matter how loud we scream, how hard we cry, how much we speak out—this keeps happening in our communities.

We are losing beautiful souls.
A mother has lost her daughter.
A sister has lost her sister.
Children are losing their mothers.

This must end.

We need real action. We need the authorities to step up with firm decisions and stronger laws. What’s being done right now is not enough. That’s why it keeps happening.

Let us all come together to honour the memory of #MuzhdaHabibi Her story does not end here.

I just spoke to mum in Changi Airport. She’s a trooper. To keep them from going stir crazy, she grabbed the twins and their bags, and left the airport for a short while to explore. She’s exhausted. Her immediate goals? Organise dinner and find a room for the night — we just did✅
