@RealMttMrdck@ImperiusWrecked Yes, the complete invention of Kamar w/no real explanation didn't help. Nor did it make sense to get rid of the only heir you had & let someone else raise him???Though it did get rid of that Byrne hybrid sterility nonsense. ;p And yes, I am also Reviresco.
@RealMttMrdck@ImperiusWrecked Tribal thing may have come earlier, w/ Skottie Young's New Warriors & the first time we see the white tattoos on Nita, though Atlanteans w/no rayguns was CW. Reversed then, in SM 2007. Namor never dealt with enemies, much less rebels, that way. Re: Byrrah, Attuma & Tiger Shark
@RealMttMrdck@ImperiusWrecked Priest's Namor was the least bad & he was old school enough to know Namor. But the rest, absolutely not. I still shudder at the bachelor party / honeymoon crap.
@ImperiusWrecked@RealMttMrdck ugh. Dreadful story. I think Namor came to Ben's wedding? Only to commiserate with others who had lost their lovers. sigh
@RealMttMrdck@ImperiusWrecked I'm not sure about the Carey run, as I'm kind of hazy on it, but I think we have to blame Avengers Invaders and then Remender for some eyebrow raising takes. Invaders NOW was where their 'morally gray' was letting Namor do the awful dirty work.
@RealMttMrdck@ImperiusWrecked That is something to ponder. When did Marvel abandon the characterization of Namor most of his fans love. For me it was Sub-Mariner Revolution 2007, which I enjoyed alot of, but I could never see Namor abandoning, much less killing an alleged son or maiming rebels.
@RealMttMrdck@ImperiusWrecked I don't think so, as I've explained. But TBH, I don't think we got enough of Hickman's SVTU to see if his view of their relationship had changed. It was the Reed / Doom that was important to Hickman, & that wasn't a political relationship.
@ImperiusWrecked@RealMttMrdck It's better than being in a Black Panther book, where it is nothing but humiliation. With the FF, there's a chance of something fun and 60+ years of history to draw from.
@RealMttMrdck@ImperiusWrecked Namor was never going to assemble a group of heroes, when the 'heroes' of the Illuminati had just failed him & the world. Jim would be the last person he'd call in that mess.
@ImperiusWrecked@RealMttMrdck I think there's more to that particular issue, but yes, the point was to show off Sue, and secondarily, to frame their relationship, as he saw it - which was schizophrenic in some ways, given her sniping at Emma.
