I find it funny that @taylorwburks is playing keyboard warrior and launching baseless attacks against @RickBrattin. It mirrors how he lacked the decency to speak to me directly about his issue with @MissouriCR’s endorsement of Senator Brattin.
Instead, Mr. Burks called my boss, my faculty advisor at Mizzou, and the Boone County GOP Chair, airing his grievances to them rather than me. He was furious over not “being able to speak with the College Republicans” about an endorsement and that he had not been consulted on our endorsement of Brattin. We waited for campaigns to reach out and got no communication. The Missouri CRs Cabinet made a unanimous decision to support Senator Brattin.
Rather than ask for my contact to speak with me directly like adults, he chose a petty, immature action because he thinks he can get away with trying to bully the College Republicans. When I confronted him for his actions, he only sought to justify and make excuses for himself. Such behavior is unbecoming of a candidate for office, let alone a member of a university’s Board of Governors.
Burks’ actions have only affirmed my support for Senator Brattin, and I do not regret the College Republicans’ decision. Both the Missouri CRs and College Republicans of America have Rick Brattin’s back!
