We live in a state that is in the Bible Belt where majority are pro life yet people are being mistreated in this state in MDOC facilities & yet most turn their head!Does that life not matter once it reaches a certain age or makes mistakes?Who are we to judge? We are their voices!
Yesterday we reported on a @CharMeckSchools student who was suspended after reporting a sexual assault (Story https://t.co/VvqnwRsujc)
Today we tried to ask CMS board members @MargaretMarsh84@elysedashew @JenniferforCMS if that was acceptable. They wouldn't answer #ncpol#nced
.@GovStitt Please take up the recommendation of the Pardon and Parole Board to commute the sentence of, and not execute, Julius Jones.
Their decision proves there is overwhelming doubt in his original conviction and that Oklahoma should not execute an innocent man.
The rapid rise in COVID-19 hospitalizations from the delta variant is hitting younger adults – under 50 years old – the hardest. It’s our largest unvaccinated group. Please take steps right away to get protected: https://t.co/6d0RrDgd8y
Many incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals struggle with mental health but do not want to admit with the fear of getting another label stamped on their backs. We are working to create better opportunities for them to receive the treatment that they need.
Right now, people on probation and parole make up the majority of people in our justice system.

Mississippi Prisons never adequately addressed/corrected their inhumane living conditions. There are incarcerated folks without heat right now and without other means to keep warm. Cooking staff isn’t showing up in this weather so they are being fed dry cereal and bologna.
@bricewigginsMS@hardycase1 It has costs us (that's your pocket and mine in Mississippi) over 35k to house Shelby for a personal stash of marijuana.
