To find perfection in one’s craft.
In one’s art.
Without an ounce of competitive intent.
To have the art become one’s vehicle to Freedom.
What a life this is.
Hard Truths (spoken softly):
1) A human is, by its nature, a self-absorbed organism
2) Even when caring for another, he really does it for himself
3) The one who stands solid is the one who refuses to lean
4) On the other side of emotional need, lies the path to your Freedom
TRUTHS FOR THE SERIOUS
1) Do not memorize or repeat these words. Experience them
2) Everyone you know will leave, unless you leave before them
3) Nothing is important. All is superfluous
4) All that remains is to Experience the moment, without the pride of having experienced it
He who understands that his life has been, torn, pilfered, ravaged, and shattered by the addiction to pleasure
Has a genuine opportunity at Freedom in this life.
No one thinks about you in quite the way you think
No one will love you in the way that you hope
No one can give you what you have always longed for
No one will make you what you seek to become.
To Lean
Is to Fall.
Courage:
The half-submerged tribal women of MP who lay on pyres and stood beneath nooses,
just to save their rivers, their forests, and their land.
The thousands who marched yesterday in Delhi, asking for accountability.
The girl from Bihar who boarded a crowded general-compartment of a train with 20 rupees in her pocket because she thought showing up matters.
The journalist who ran, coughed, wiped the tear gas off her eyes, and kept reporting.
The young girl, under a rain of batons, asked the police, "Am I not like your child?”
The labourer who sat in solidarity, very aware of the day’s wages he is going to lose.
The young doctors who dressed wounds while being beaten up themselves.
The rickshaw driver who ferried students to the protest for free.
The blind man who couldn’t see the crowd but handed water bottles to everyone.
The strangers who anonymously sent food and the volunteers who served.
The boy from MP, who brought peanuts and an onion in a tiffin box
to a protest that met with batons and tear gas.
The brave student who after being struck on the shin with a baton, asked for another blow.
Those who stood, when standing came at a price.
When overcome by fear, courage was the only option.
History will remember those who looked at a nailed baton in the eye and did not flinch.
Te remind us that our nation was, is and will forever be, of the people.
Rely upon yourself. Teach yourself. Accompany yourself. Have talks with yourself. Scold yourself. Commiserate with yourself. Work with yourself. Create art yourself. Inspire yourself. Take long walks with yourself. See yourself. Know yourself.
