Some quick thoughts on the stocks I like:

As we enter 2026 the global theme has largely been a restructuring of a new society. Ai/tech/energy has soared as the beneficiaries of building out the futuristic space age society and metals have soared as the dying of our current society is evident. Reverberations from the 2008 GFC and incompetent world leaders have finally caught up to us as populism and inflation plague the world. Anxiety and angst are rising as the collective zeitgeist feels the unprecedented uncertainty of reshaping the new world, increasingly less reliant on humans.

Neil Howe describes this as the fourth turning, a generational crisis that leads to societal upheaval and reconstruction, a multi decade period of revolution in technology, culture, and art. The revolutionary war led to the Industrial Revolution and the steam engine, civil war to the Technological revolution and electricity/automobiles, and the Great Depression/ww2 to the information revolution and personal computers. We now are at the cusp of 2008 GFC/? into the age of talking sand.

The themes of the future are clear. Decentralized energy, ai/robotics, metaverse (AR/soacial computing), Space, and biotech. Traditional monetary supply run off vibes of a centralized authority will be replaced with a programmable, decentralized, representation of energy (work) to be transacted between ai agents. The ai brain will expand into personal humanoids to help with chores around the house and replace the aging and declining working class. Robo taxis will be the formal mode of transportation and all shipping will be done by drone. Much of the world will become translated into the metaverse, both reducing wasted resources and the borders we are confined to in meat space. AR learning will guide surgeons, carpenters along to complete any task with competence. Entire worlds and planets will be reconstructed virtually to allow planning and testing of space missions, city design, etc., all inhabited by ai agents, learning in real time from the global nervous system as a toddler crawling and learning from its surroundings. Society will gradually outgrow the planet and nuclear energy constraints and stretch out into the vast expanse of space, using AR telepresence to construct data centers, mine asteroids, and build Dyson spheres to harness the sun’s energy. Biotech will begin to merge ai and biology, leading to advancements in longevity drugs, bio hacking, and gene editing.

As with previous revolutions of the railroad and personal computer, these themes will redefine future elites for those with the foresight, patience, and pain tolerance. We are not out of the thicket yet and societal upheaval historically is plagued with long periods of large volatility as the K shaped economy, inflation, and violence continue to rage on. Diversification and hedges are prudent during these periods. Metals and longing volatility are among popular options as crashes can often exceed 30-40%.

Generational opportunities await those with the stomach to weather the storm. The game becomes harder but rewards greater. Optimists will win in the end, GL us
