@Fmenzi @DrDaveT It is mutual, yes. Although the finches draw blood and it looks uncomfortable, it is presumed that the blue-footed boobies overlook what the finches are doing. This mutual relationship allows the finches to get nutrition and the boobies to be pest-free.

@Fmenzi @DrDaveT As it is only found on Wolf Island and Darwin's Island (the Galapagos), it is considered highly endangered due to the lack of area it resides in. There are also types of invasive species that can reduce and limit the success of fledglings.

@Fmenzi @DrDaveT I remember being taught in school briefly about the finches if the Galapagos, and the variation intrigued me. But David Attenborough touched on the vampire finch in more detail in a documentary, and I was really interested to find out about this bird in further detail.
