@CJFDillow Maybe - but the interview by Laura Kussenburgh was appalling. Half of it (18 mins) concerned the donations question. It was worth at most 5 mins. The rest should have been about policies that will seriously affect the viewers.
@georgemagnus1 There are actually a lot of books by economists on how the macro economy works ( more important than supply and demand ) that do indeed say that much of highly mathematical theories we have followed since the 1979’s are a
busted flush.
@SamLStandsUp I played for a newly formed village cricket team. I was wicket keeper. After a few overs of our second match their irritated opening bat asked me to tell our captain to ask the fielder at midwicket to stop smoking. The fielder was, of course, the captain. He did stop, but we won.
@DAaronovitch Should we not call the period between a terrible incident like the Southport Murders and the release of official information about what happened‘the Farage gap’. The quicker the gap can be closed the better it is for everyone, except, of course, Farage.
@DAaronovitch I am glad you have done this. I have changed my mind about your participation in the debate after reading your article.. I now think you are right to take part.
@Frances_Coppola@georgeeaton I agree with that. But I suspect that my observation still mitigates the effects of the means testing. I think, though, that it would have been better to tax winter fuel payments.
