With all the air-conditioning conversations & debate in Europe - let me share actual data for Canadians & their residential usage of A/C. By the way, this should be TAUGHT in schools.
Teachers - I will come to your school next fall (or next May when it’s warmer!) & do a 20 minute presentation on this - all with a 62 in Grade 10 Physics as the most recent Science course, of any kind, I took.
Canada’s % of yearly global greenhouse gas emissions - 1.5% (highest estimate, some estimates are 1.3 or 1.4%)
Canada’s % of overall energy usage that residential air conditioning in ALL homes & apartments use - between 1.6-2.8%.
Space heating is by far our greatest energy usage at +60%. Water heating is 2nd between 15-20%.
All appliances combine for 15%.
Indoor/outdoor lighting is 4-5%.
THEN….indoor A/C.
Canadians’ residential air conditioning usage accounts for roughly 0.0015% to 0.0025% of yearly global greenhouse gas emissions.
To put that into context, it represents between 1.5 and 2.5 millionths of the world's total carbon footprint.
ONE private jet flight from Ottawa to Vancouver (let’s say, for a World Cup Soccer game…I’m for Carney doing that, by the way!) emits more than 10X the emissions of a 4-bedroom Canadian household's A/C usage for an entire YEAR.
All that to say…..yeah. Share this w/ family & friends. This is NEVER something to feel guilty about.

🇨🇦 elected the only person in history to spark a housing bubble on two continents via excess credit.
Now folks are shocked they’re bailing out developers.
… wait until they realize real estate’s NET profit margin is 25.5%, ~4x 🇨🇦’s average. Net profits > 2022 peak.
PM Carney's remarks on the controversial BC condo purchase program. He acknowledges the government has done a poor job of explaining what this is. New details: The program has a maximum budget of $1.45B, with 10% from the federal government and 90% from the province.
@MikePMoffatt@beheshtialex A banker that doesn’t know the numbers is of serious concern. 1 bedroom suites are not for families but he clearly states it.
🇨🇦’s democracy isn’t dying. It died overnight.

This needs to go Viral! In Atlanta for the FIFA World Cup game between Spain & Cabo Verde a fan wearing a Spain jersey gestured to a Cabo Verde fan asking if he would like to swap jerseys & he said excitedly said Yes so they traded jerseys & hugged for what seemed like forever.
Almost 1000 tickets still for sale on the official FIFA website for Canada’s 1st-ever World Cup match on home soil. I know because FIFA’s website says so. They aren’t budging on price - you’re not budging on giving in.

So let me get this straight...
Canada is in a recession—the only G7 country currently in one. Unemployment is up. Inflation is rising. Food insecurity is at a record high.
Yet the highest proportion of Canadians since 2017 now say the country is on the right track.
That's either a remarkable display of optimism—or a sign that many Canadians aren't getting the full economic story from the news they consume.
EXCLUSIVE: Ontario Premier Doug Ford is losing his Treasury Board President.
Caroline Mulroney will resign from Ford’s cabinet and the legislature, according to a letter obtained by the Globe — she says now is the time to “begin a new chapter” #onpoli https://t.co/neZSgmVi4h
W5 just exposed how drug smugglers are treating Canadian airports like an open buffet.
A reporter casually strolled straight into the restricted baggage carousel at Pearson Airport — no badge, no swipe, no security check. Just walked right in off the street.
Employees were caught bypassing scanners. Random people strolled through exit doors. No electronic record. No real barriers.
This is exactly how organized crime swaps drug-filled suitcases onto innocent passengers’ luggage… then those Canadians get arrested and detained abroad for crimes they knew nothing about.
Dozens of victims already.
Pearson’s official response? “Domestic baggage claim areas are publicly accessible” and stopping drug smuggling “isn’t our mandate.”
This isn’t security.
It’s a complete joke.
After 11 years of Liberal border chaos, this is what “Canada is back” looks like.
