A train crashed into an 18-wheeler loaded with cases of bottled water stuck on the tracks in Richmond at 2nd St.
No injures were reported and the train was able to stop a 1/4th of a mile down the tracks. Traffic can cross at Collins Road.

With the cold weather here and another cold night in store, below is some information on warming centers in Fort Bend County, their locations, and hours of operation.

WEATHER UPDATE: DISTRICT CLOSED
Due to hazardous weather conditions and in the interest of the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and parents, all student activities scheduled for the MLK Holiday tomorrow, and all classes, after-school activities, athletic events, and extended learning for Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22, 2025, have been canceled.
The district will notify staff and parents via the district’s website, local news media, social media, and mass email system.
As a reminder, a severe weather hotline is also available to receive the latest updates at (281) 634-4636.
All Lamar CISD district and school operations will be CLOSED on Tuesday, January 21 and Wednesday, January 22. They will continue to provide updates as necessary via ParentSquare, website, and District social media accounts.

The latest on TS #Francine The track has moved more to the east which is good news, for now, for us. We will continue to monitor the track of the storm as it can change greatly before landfall.
10 AM Tropical Update: Tropical Storm #Francine has formed in the Gulf. While the system's track has shifted to the east and is now expected to approach the Louisiana coast, SE Texas will still see hazardous marine conditions, coastal flooding, and some downpours.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Deputy Esqueda’s family and with @HCSOTexas Deputy Esqueda was needlessly ambushed and killed this morning while trying to help locate a subject involved in an earlier robbery. There is an ongoing search for the suspect.
We mourn the loss of @HCSOTexas Deputy Fernando Esqueda, who tragically passed away after being shot while protecting our community.
Deputy Esqueda was a five-year Harris County Sheriff’s Office veteran and served our community in the HCSO

With the heat index soaring above 100 today and people still unfortunately without power in some areas, here is a list of cooling centers and times that they are open today.

The Fort Bend County Fairgrounds, Building C is located at 4310 Hwy. 36 South, Rosenberg, Texas.

Beryl is still hanging around parts of SE TX this afternoon, but conditions are improving. There's been lots of damage and power is still out for most locations, but clean up has started. Please be mindful of your surroundings and take care of yourself.
