Hereâs the thing: Indians are rising.
And that is actually why anti-Indian sentiment is rising. Not because Indians are so weak, but because Indians are once again becoming strong.
CEOs of companies.
Leaders of countries.
Founders and investors.
Doctors, writers, professors.
Not just slumdogs.
Millionaires.
Now, I know what people will say.
Not all Indians are doing well.
More than a billion are still poor!
And of course thatâs true, and will be for a while.
But Indians abroad have risen as individuals:
And India is now rising as a country:
Indeed, India is the fastest growing large economy in the world over the last decade:
And I think Indians have a lot of headroom left. Where does it end up? We donât know, but if even 5% of 1.4B Indian nationals are at the same level as the ~5M strong Indian American diaspora that currently produces ~6% of US tax revenue, thatâs ~70M people capable of producing ~72% of current US tax revenue.
So I think itâs at least possible that India returns to its historical level of relative prosperity:
As a plausibility argument, recall that before America was even a twinkle in anyoneâs eye, Marco Polo sought out China and Columbus risked his life to trade with India. So those civilizations were giant economic centers for thousands of years.
And are becoming so again.
This perspective demands a different approach. Not the victim mindset where Indians mimic Western wokes in whining piteously upon every slight. But a mature, tit-for-tat morality befitting a rising people where you cooperate with those that cooperate, ignore what is best ignored, and (proportionately) punish only when necessary.
Because even from a purely realpolitik standpoint, constant cancellation doesnât work. Recall that wokes tried that for the last decade, and all it got them was epic political defeat. They overused the penicillin called anti-racism, and now we have antibiotic-resistant actual racism.
Indians will need different tactics. And that starts with moving from victim mentality to Vedic mentality, if you'll permit the poetic license. Because India isn't just a rising civilization, it's a returning civilization. And wokes are proven losers, but Indians can be winners.
The ocean slaps itself hard everyday, many times a day and thatâs how it turned into one of the strongest forces of nature
The lake on other hand, stays in peace unperturbed by its under currents and manages to be home to a rich set of animals/insects/birds
We learn from both
I have no idea how many people I will offend in saying this, but I cannot describe how deeply I disrespect influencer culture, and the normalization of posting endless videos of nothing, that say nothing, that offer nothing, to get clicks and engagement, for no reason but to build your brand and sell your product.
I may well be very stupid for declining to participate, because I am almost intentionally keeping myself poor in doing so, but the idea of churning out endless, empty, nothing garbage on Instagram and TikTok, day in and day out, caught in a hamster wheel of production of vapor seems like such a soul-killing waste of life.
The fact that so many millions have opted in depresses me to no end.
@ZoeRoseBryant We might see a generation of men âtrying to get awayâ claiming their past trauma. While we are here to empathize and lend a voice to the victims ..
When are these conflicted men going to take personal responsibility to heal themselves and check themselves into rehab / therapy ?
It goes without saying how much I love my parents, but I wouldnât take advice from them for anything that I dint see them practice in their adult life.
However, I spend time thinking about practices I can follow now, so I donât have the same regrets as them.

Itâs a running joke at home, In our search for a life partner..
my then-friend-now-husband was searching for a potential partner,
while I was looking for a partner with potential.
When you push through burnout, exhaustion and foggy brain.. you come out the other end just numb and dumb.
âSuck it upâ ainât gonna work.. if you are a die hard optimist with an overtly positive attitude like mine â ffs breathe, sleep and disconnect for at least 12hrs!

@LouisAnslow What Iâve realized is Yeâs challenge is getting comfortable with the idea of âunknown unknownsâ.
Most of us always have room for âI May not know what I donât knowâ, but Ye is absolutely sure he knows his unknowns and will find a way to address it. See the irony here!
@atShruti Check out https://t.co/flkU9lRB0h for easy booking of event spaces.
Iâve used it in the past, for a birthday celebration of ~50 guests and it was easy, reliable, simply a fantastic experience overall.
Using humor as a coping mechanism is what we are want to master..
Most of us are stuck at using humor as a defense mechanism and canât tell the difference, unfortunately.
