@BigRedSulk I don't for a second think he'd get 25 goals. But *if* the sad, anonymous version was due to Slot, so we could have the chaos agent version back again, and *if* the signing on fee wasn't ridiculous, I'd take him as a 2nd choice behind Isak.
He's always fit and he'll run all day.
@LFCApproved It's hard to blame him. He's never had a sniff of action unless we had literally no-one else. Obviously his injuries played a big part in that, but we barely saw him for two years even when fit. And almost never at centre back.
@RedOnesIre@Carl_M79 With Elliott my mind always goes back to the fact that Klopp said his biggest regret was not playing him more. There's something in that.
His time might have come and gone, but I still think he's got something to contribute
@RedOnesIre@Carl_M79 I'm not saying he should be starting every week or even that he's an answer to anything. Just that there are reasons people might want to have him back and in the squad.
@LewisBower2021 I think Oussama Assaidi was the moment I truly learned that these sort of clips are often a bit selective.
But this kid does look very talented, let's hope a year or so of polishing can smooth some of those rough edges you mention.
@BigRedSulk I mean we've never won the league without having a half decent squad and a manager who's head's not fried either. So I appreciate we have bigger problems right now.
@ShaneRobbo_81@LFCApproved Usually that's because we haven't scored and are chasing the game, or haven't put it bed properly.
They go insane, charging forward because the 'plan a' (whatever the fuck it is) in terms of going forward, hasn't worked. Which exposes the defence.
@monkeysponge Having been to gigs where phones are banned, I fully agree. Thought it was a bit draconian at first, but once you've experienced it, gigs without a ban don't feel the same.
@musinguzi_allan@DaleJohnsonBBC I don't think it is going to ever happen, no. But surely "are important enough" is subjective?
It's about how much we are happy to sacrifice for "better decisions". And then a question of how much "better" those decisions are. Different people will have different feelings.
@DaleJohnsonBBC And so, when it's the same everywhere, we're getting 5 min+ delays, we're having fans unsure whether they can celebrate a goal, we're having errors made because things aren't reviewable, and hairline offsides that pretty much no-one agrees with... We have to ask - is it worth it?
@ItsDodge He definitely will. If I was Birmingham or Derby, a bit club in the Championship, I'd be all over him.
I think the hope from Sunderland is that he's put a great structure in place, now we need another guy to head it and go to next level
@ItsDodge Feels like the writing was on the wall as soon as Ghisolfi came in. Probably suggests a) Speakman didn't have the contacts/data/knowledge for PL level targets, and b) Summer recruitment prep starts now. (And is going to be PL level in terms of quality, money etc)
@Carl_M79 That, honestly, was the difference. We've actually been playing *quite* well for a few weeks now, and crazy individual errors have cost us. Cut those out and we can be alright
@SiClancy To my recollection he was in line for the Raiders job twice(? at least once) so there definitely is context here - he keeps getting knocked back, the poor fella. Very highly thought of as well, it's not like he's a nobody.
