what have we achieved since then

It cannot be anything else but an airport

This is public money being spent we know some will scrutinise any decisions made

We do know that City of Doncaster Council have employed several Consultants to help and ensure that the work being undertaken is responsible and offers value for money for the tax payer

So a lease agreed for 125 years

Procurement ongoing with two final candidates for the position of operator at DSA

TUI Have announced they want to be involved in the reopening of DSA and are keen to move back to DSA

2Excel occupy hanger 2 at DSA they want to expand into another hanger and move some of their 30 aircraft back to Doncaster moving staff back to their base and possibly employing more people

CDC are undertaking work on site for health and safety purposes to prepare the airport ready for a timely handover to the prospective operator.

We are fortunate that The department for transport have called in the decision for the airspace and have paused any decision while the work is ongoing to reopen DSA

In the past we have painted Peel as the devil
When closure was announced the powers that be in government said its a commercial decision and have not been involved. Others have said that's it its closing its a done deal DSA is over and they want to develop the site

Well here we are well over a year later with City of Doncaster Council and the resolve they have had to reopen DSA with support from South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority

And the great support we have all offered on the group to our authorities

Peel have actually taken a step back listened to the support for our airport and have accepted that they actually may have been wrong

Someone else has a different operating model that may actually work
Peel do make money from the airport site

But the Gateway East development will benefit from another's investment in DSA and this may help grow the site and encourage further investment and boost our economy and employment prospects

We need this to happen
without DSA
Gateway East may not work
Without Gateway East
DSA may not succeed

South Yorkshire Airport City is the solution and we must move forward and support this

With an estimated
14,000 jobs
And
1.8 to 2.4 billion pounds added to our economy in the next 30 years Doncaster is going places

@lfc_bec I have always been happy from a selfish perspective, I wish they all never played for their country as it increases the risk of injury, not a popular opinion but I’ve said it for years, I don’t care an awful lot about international football in comparison to the club
