@anchyg7@avfcnyc Buys are amortised over the contract length and sells are profit on the books.
For scr this year, it would mean 40 to booked profit for Ollie sale and the purchase of Jackson, assume a 5 year contract at 60m would be 12m on the books.
I think the numbers work.
@avfc015 You're comments on gomes and Martinez are misplaced in my humble opinion. Very very unlikely we see anyone better than tielemans and you cannot speak with certainty that a player will be better than our best ever goalkeeper.
@BookofAEGIS Should you review your previous argument on his value then? Seems contradictory. No doubt players on this list are valued lower. Factor in Villa's constant FFP battle, likelihood of player running down contract and Villa's need to extract as much value from all assets to compete
@GarySmithJnr @GPlaza85 Not really considering one of our main challenges is navigating the financial rules. We simply cant afford to let players run out their contracts and make no money. To be honest even the big 6 do everything they can not to not suffer this fate. Maximising value from asset is key
@GarySmithJnr @GPlaza85 We have to maximise the value of our assets. You wouldn't hold onto your house if you need you knew for certainty you would lose it for nothing in 2 years and it would be half the value in one year.
@FPLVillan It's the level we have to operate unfortunately, take gambles on players we think we can improve. We aren't going get top players in top form going for 70-80m(going rate for top players at average clubs)
@DippyDon_95 We've had 10+ years to produce another single striker capable of deputising for Harry Kane and the closest we have is Ollie Watkins...End of list
@utvHarry What good player that will improve the squad is possible on much lower wages.
Ultimately we will have to take risks on unproven players. This strategy hasn't worked very well so I see your point but I'm not sure it's worth losing a player with 3 good years left in him.
@57BossMan57@BleuSpheres@sbjosh02 He's not answering the question because his logic completely breaks down.
Choosing red is the only sensible answer here, and I presume in an actual situation this happened, probably at least 90-95% actually choose red whereas they lie to themselves they won't.
