Using algebra and substitution solve for D in EQ3 so D^2=X-7 or D=sqrt(x-7).

Substitute into EQ2
7+7*sqrt(x-7)=28 simplifies to
7*sqrt(x-7) =21 now divide both sides by 7
Sqrt(x-7) =3
X-7=9
X=9+7=16
