Director of Communications at @_APCI. Working to end PBM abuse. More snark and sarcasm than warranted. RTs are not endorsements. Opinions are my own. War Eagle!
This new federal #PBMReform bill would ban #PBMs from owning a pharmacy across the country. It has bipartisan support. | @RepAuchincloss

@SherriBass_@_APCI@wpri12 Every independent pharmacy that has shuttered its doors the past few years because of #PBM below-cost reimbursement on the medications they dispensed would like a word.
What government can do to support independent pharmacies is to pass meaningful #PBMReform.
$615,000,000
That’s how much a federal audit says #PBMs overcharged a government health program.
And this happened under a “transparent” model.
Reform isn’t optional anymore.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The Big 3 #PBMs are unmatched in finding new and exciting ways to extract BILLIONS of healthcare dollars from patients and taxpayers that they have done NOTHING to earn.
Talk about smoke and mirrors. #PBMs find new ways to hide revenue and increase profits. Very indepth reporting and long article at this link. | @hntrbrkmedia

@_APCI called on Congress on Thursday, December 11, 2025 to pass the reintroduced Pharmacists Fight Back Act, two coordinated pieces of federal legislation designed to reform pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) practices.
The Pharmacy Podcast Network provides exclusive coverage of the event held on Capitol Hill.
Thank you Jake Auchincloss for amplifying the voices of community pharmacists who are fighting back against predatory PBM practices & for introducing the bipartisan Pharmacists Fight Back Act. @TruthRX @SteveMooreRx @nabpharmd https://t.co/81MS3PLTMK
😭😭😭
Who exactly is going to cut their prices ? Independent physicians can barely pay their bills. DPC is already a bargain. Hospitals are going to get rid of facility fees or walk away from keeping 340b margins and passing that to the patient ? No.
Big PBMs are going to stop charging fees ? No. Big insurers are going to stop gaming vertical integration transfers ? No
Break up the big insurance companies first. Make them divest each vertical , PBMs, Providers, ASOs , Digital They are the ATT1984 of 2026.
Break them up.
They have become Too Big To Care

"The 'Pharmacists Fight Back Act' bills strengthen the entire healthcare system... When patients pay less and federal programs operate more efficiently, every taxpayer benefits." #PFBA#PBMReform

@donald_Baker1@PharmacyPodcast@ipcrx It's funny how someone who only occasionally reposts travel articles suddenly has an interest and opinion on #PBM practices. You're either a bot, a Big 3 PBM shill, or just have NO idea how pharmaceutical pricing works.
@LaylaEv90@_APCI Couple of things here:
First, it's odd that someone who posts almost exclusively about photography and coffee is taking a bold stand on Rx pricing.
Second, #PBMs demand greater rebates to put brands on formulary, leading to higher list prices. It's a perverse incentive.
@ImabuDaniel@_APCI Rebates, especially on brand name drugs, don't do anything but increase #PBM profits. Rebates create a perverse incentive for #PBMs to demand that manufacturers increase list prices in order for the PBM to place the drug on a formulary.
I smell a rat. There's no way an insurer/Big 3 #PBM cuts off that sweet, sweet rebate cash without having an alternative revenue stream ready to go. Somebody (likely everybody) will keep paying.
Here's an interesting idea. No drug rebates to #PBMs and discounts go to the patients. Definitely an issue to keep an eye on as it is implemented over the next year. | @Reuters

Behind the curtain, PBMs are pulling the strings.
Secret markups. Hidden rebates. Steering patients into their own networks. These practices inflate drug costs, limit choice, and push local pharmacies out of business.
Patients deserve transparency. Pharmacies deserve fairness. Communities deserve a healthcare system that puts health before profit 💡
It is time to pull back the curtain and demand accountability. Reform cannot wait.
