Labour leader being introduced by a twelve piece brass band who are mesmerisingly good. Almost ten years in this job for me and it may the first time I’ve ever seen something that isn’t at least in some way terrible.
For women, singing is forbidden in Iran. This woman is bravely singing in one of Esfahan’s most historical mosques. When the security agent tried to stop her, she resisted and continued. Brave Iranian women like her will some day bring down this most anti-woman regime.

I have raised the issue of proposed BBC cuts to @BBCSingers@BBCCO@BBCSO@BBCPhilharmonic a number of times and so I was glad to hear @BambosMP point out the flaws in the BBC's decision in his adjournment debate in the House of Commons.
Conservatoire students against cuts: this afternoon. 5.15pm outside the BBC. rehearsal at the Royal Academy of Music 4.15pm. Lots of singers involved from multiple conservatoires. Huge support so far. Bring an umbrella. contact @emmaconductor for music
I decided to share the email from Tim Davie to me (and ‘all’, all meaning every winner of BBC Young Musician). There is no doubt that we are still in a real fight for classical music on the BBC.
Conservatoires against Cuts 31st March 5.15pm outside the BBC: still going ahead. We need to keep applying pressure to reverse the 20% cut to orchestras, and to highlight the plight of young musicians since the ACE cuts. Don't let's sleepwalk into a vanished art form
