So sad to see @tconnolly02 leave the @RPIAthletics womens hockey program. TY for what you have done to build the program. How could RPI let this happen?
@s_guilbeault No, you created a law that requires companies to prov something using tools that do not exist. It is a craven approach that avoided debate by dropping it into a larger bill because you knew you couldn't pass it as a single act.
*NEW* With today's release of the 2024Q2 population, we can update Canada's GDP per capita series. Average income down 2.45% between 1st quarter of 2023 and 2024. Level is virtually identical to 1st quarter of 2017. Seven years of no economic growth.
@KathleenGanley Yes, please do it again and again. I had to miss this session but the more you talk to Albertans about policy the more likely that you will win this
Smith oddly used a photo with only 37 MLAs in her 47-member UCP caucus, making a small-for-Alberta governing team seem even smaller. (NDP has 38)
Missing members include Deputy Premier Mike Ellis, Health Minister Adriana Lagrange and Adv Ed Min Rajan Sawhney.

Today was Rachel Notley's last day in the legislature as leader of the Official Opposition. She has been a fierce advocate for the underdog — consistently fighting for equality and human rights. She has stood up for families and the services they rely on. And she has been an incredible mentor in the game they call politics.
Alberta is incredibly lucky to have her.

I always knew that Canada’s proposed cap on oil & gas emissions would have a big cost to Canadas economy; @OilGasCanada has just issued a report by @SPGCI to quantify it. The “Stress Case” with the cap has conventional production 35% lower by 2035 than the "Base Case" #cndpoli
My colleague @SPhillipsAB , her family and the staff in the Lethbridge-West office have been through so much in the last 7 years.
Political intimidation in a free and democratic society is unacceptable. I applaud her fortitude and fully support her pursuit of justice. #ableg
A normal Honda Accord needs about 40 pounds of copper. The same battery electric Accord needs 200 pounds. Onshore wind turbines require about 10 tons of copper, and offshore approx. 20 tons. The world will need to mine 115% more copper than has been mined in all human history just to meet “business as usual.” This would meet our current copper needs and support the developing world without considering the green energy transition. Six new large mines need to come online every year by 2050 to meet global copper demand, but the problem is it takes about 20 years between discovering a new copper mineral deposit and getting a permit to build a mine. None of this takes into consideration the upgrades to the electrical infrastructure needed to "electrify: the world by 2050. In short electrifying the world by 2050 is a politicians pipe dream that will never happen. Source: https://t.co/aMSCrKYKM0
I want to provide a little bit of context for the criminal charges recommended by ASIRT - as a consequence of Lethbridge Police Service officers who targeted me while I was a Minister of the Crown.
This is an incredibly reasonable, mature response from a politician who has suffered personal consequences from unjust actions. @SPhillipsAB would have been my #1 choice for leader of the ANDP, but I can understand why she didnt want to subject herself and family to more of this

@SPhillipsAB Protecting politicians from unjust harassment from media, law enforcement, and the public, may seem like a sideline issue, but it has a big effect on the quality of people attracted to public service.
@SamirKayande ERCOT! Texas is doing a great job on renewables. Their formula is not at all applicable to Alberta's climate. Backing up wind and solar in an AB winter is just not the same challenge. We need more renewables....and more natgas power.
