I STUDIED 50 PEOPLE WHO SEEM "LUCKY" IN LIFE.
None of them journal. Or wake at 5am. Or have a "system."
But They All Do These 12 Things Religiously:
1. They don't wait for the weekend to live.
@thedrivenman From Wolf, also with James Spader and Christopher Plummer. Not very well remembered, but Michelle Pfeiffer was captivating as Jack Nicholson rediscovered his killer instinct throughout the film.
@falconerstuart@rbarbosa91 Sorry this has been your experience, Stuart. The public hospital system in New South Wales is as corrupt and incompetent, run by power hungry bureaucrats with no care for patients and genuine hatred of doctors. The magic of medicine is still real. Cheers, mate.
Obscene salaries for bureaucratic fat cats who hold office at the whim of the PM have corrupted the public service and opened the way for disasters like #Robodebt. Jacqui Lambie & I are aiming a political laser at this Govt cancer. #auspol https://t.co/t9v0wKtjUZ
The unfortunate police officer was the classic case where the experiment was a success, but the patient died - because the team didn’t have sufficient penicillin to complete the treatment.
#OTD in 1941 a police officer called Albert Alexander was the first recipient of penicillin. It was produced by Ernst Chain & Howard Florey who shared the 1945 #NobelPrize with Alexander Fleming, who discovered penicillin in 1928.
Photos of penicillin, Chain, Fleming & Florey.
Gutless, disgraceful and an appalling breach of the medical profession’s duty to patients and to the community.
Almost certainly the “Assistant Registrar” will not be a doctor. The underlying motive here is not community welfare, but intimidation and political control of doctors.
To weaponise The GMC against honest doctors fighting the good fight for their patients is the lowest possible action one can take.
We will not be silenced; and we’ll continue fighting for health equity and justice!

Contempt from their governing body in the UK for the professionals it regulates, jeopardising public safety. Matched in New South Wales by bureaucrats disrespecting psychiatrists, ignoring unsafe work conditions despite mass resignations. Today’s Australian:
Now permission has been granted and the claim expedited, the *only* thing standing in the way of @AnaesUnited claim reaching court is funding.
This case has huge potential implications for the practice of medicine in this country.
If you want to make change, now is your chance:
Four years ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we needed a leader with the character to put politics aside and do what was right. That’s what @JoeBiden did.
At a time when our economy was reeling, he drove what would become the world’s strongest recovery – with 17 million new jobs, historic wage gains, and lower health care costs. He passed landmark legislation to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and address the threat of climate change.
I’m grateful to Joe for his leadership, his friendship, and his lifetime of service to this country we love.
@ellieokwilson Ellie, go on your spa trip.
You are moving on. He’ll be released at some point, but you moving on is the key. Not forgetting, not overlooking, but progressing, evolving, recovering, developing, getting stronger.
He has to be there on Valentine’s Day.
You don’t 😉
@ellieokwilson Happy New Year, Ellie. I expect you know you have had a strong impact for change and for good. While nothing will ever erase the memory of such terrible abused you endured, you have shown immense strength and determination. No one takes that away unless you let them. Stay strong
