We have laws and we have issue washing. The Hunting Act 2004 was a start but there are enough holes in it that a hunting pack still can ride through it with apparent impunity.

Today I am participating in the first debate of this election at the First Friday Networking group in Petersfield.
Both law and science are in the centre of our education - I feel they should be at the centre of how we run the country.
We need to restore the health of the people of the UK - instead of languishing on waiting lists let us prevent illness and when people are ill help them recover quickly.
The cost of fixing the problem is less than the cost to each of us.
We need more people learning essential jobs as we face the impact of AI. More people will need to re-skill and apprenticeships offer a way forward. But the labour that even an as yet to be skilled up worker offers needs to be paid for - more than the current £6.40 and hour.
This first leaders debate is frankly depressing. Two men talking over each other. Not listening, not engaging - just trying to score points. Not offering real change or real hope.
Of course, there is an alternative.

Home generated renewable energy is efficient, reduces dependance on unstable foreign sources, it is cheaper and allows us to use profits for social good.

This is not priority 3 or 4. This is No1. If we do not get this right the rest is all deck chair re-arranging.
That does not mean we do not do the rest - we do - but under the umbrella of mitigation and equity.
I received this from Damian Hinds MP following me letter to him asking him to prevent fracking from being permitted in the UK - I wrote back!

My Letter to Damian Hinds MP:
Dear Damian Hinds MP,

So in reading this book (link below) is clear that we have known about global warming for well over 150 years. Throughout the 20th Century we re-confirmed that CO2 emissions were an issue that would... https://t.co/pdHoWj9BaS
This happens in the USA - but beware - this is what is happening here in the UK as well. I dislike the apparent inefficiency and irrelevance of the supposed democratic system in the UK - but it is the only thing... https://t.co/GrVb2xsRF3
