I developed my own sculpture style as an artist and teacher in the 60's and 70's. This piece & likes got me hired by a college friend (from Long Beach State) at ILM in 1981 to make the Leia bikini. I then stayed at ILM for almost 30 years! Encouragement to young aspiring artists!

The Raiders idol was sent to ILM in California for safe-keeping after shooting the film’s opening. I don’t think it was intended to be in another scene, but I made a mold of it just in case. That mold found its way into a number of hands - the origin of many copies out there now.

This is a whale I sculpted for Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. The animal experts said this piece was super realistic to an actual whale, which made me feel good. Of the many projects I worked on at ILM, this is my favorite. I love the shape and the feel of it. #Startrek #FX #VFX
