DAY 8
Still Alive, though not kicking….
Some 7,000 people gathered at Jantar Mantar today from morning to evening. Leaders of various social and political movements spoke in support. A clear indication of how effective this movement is can be judged from the number of trolls in the comments below. Over the years I’ve seen that this number is directly proportional to the impact. I’ll be so sad & dejected the day they go missing. Thank you, my success-o-meter, for your hard work.

- This is first oath ceremony of Dr Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister
- He went to meet BJP leaders before Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi
- He hugged Atal Vajpayee and LK Advani
- This is India before 2014
💔 And now opposition leader Rahul Gandhi isn't even getting to speak in Parliament to raise voice on important issues
How and why have we changed so much in just 12 years since Modi became PM? 😭
Was at a dinner recently, with my friend and his father. Long-term relationship. Very cordial.
Both are committed vegetarians. Father an aggressive vegetarian.
Menu was a buffet option, with starters ordered from table itself. They ordered their regular veg stuff, I ordered a mix of chicken, mutton and fish.
Friend is totally cool. He goes his way, and never interferes in others' choices.
Friend's father (79 years) got agitated. "You'll eat non-veg? Here? When I am sitting with you?"
Staring into his eyes, I replied very calmly and gently - "Uncle, I do not peep into your plate. I do not force you to eat meat. Can I please expect reciprocal civil courtesy? Can you stop peeping into my plate and forcing me to live life on your terms? Or is even this basic decency too much to expect? And you do know this is a multi-cuisine place with a common kitchen?"
He went silent.
We had a great meal together. All jokes were back. He enjoyed his meal fully.
NEVER TAKE NONSENSE SILENTLY.
RESPECT FOR AGE DOESN'T MEAN RESPECT FOR BULLSHIT.
YOU GO YOUR WAY, I'LL GO MINE. BE HAPPY.
In BJP ruled Odisha, pastor Bipin Bihari Naik was brutally attacked. He was garlanded with footwear, paraded on the streets, forced to drink drain water, and compelled to bow before a temple against his will by goons of Bajrang Dal.
Now, his landlord has asked him to vacate the house where he had been living for 8 years.
First Chhattisgarh, now Odisha. Christians are under attack in BJP ruled states, while BJP leaders in Kerala seek Christian votes.
The Christian community in Kerala must never forget this.
One more Religious Hate Crime from Odisha.
“My husband ( Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik ) was tied to a Hanuman temple in the village. Both his hands were tied behind a rod. Red sindoor was smeared all over his face, and a garland of slippers was placed around his neck. He was forced to consume cow dung and was bleeding badly. People (Goons from Bajrang Dal) were slapping him and forcing him to chant Jai Sree Ram,” Pastor's wife Vandana said.

The brutal attack on Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik in Odisha’s Parjang, forcing him to eat cow dung and chant slogans is a shameful assault on our Constitution and freedom of religion.
Delay in registering FIR and investigation reflects BJP govt’s silence and patronage of hate. Such attacks poison India’s plural fabric.
The reported assault on Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik in Odisha — forcing him to eat cow dung and chant religious slogans — is a shameful violation of human dignity and constitutional freedom. No faith gives license to violence. India must confront this growing culture of mob impunity.
The reported attack on Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik in Odisha is a troubling reminder of the growing threats to India’s pluralistic and inclusive social fabric. Equally disturbing are the reported lapses in the police response. Despite urgent calls for help during the assault, the family alleged that the police prioritised formalities over immediate intervention.
I strongly condemn this incident and urge the concerned authorities to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation in the matter. It is essential to fix accountability for both the attack and administrative failures, and ensure swift, decisive action against all those responsible.
The recent attack on Pastor Bipin Bihari Naik in Odisha, forcing him to eat cow dung and chant religious slogan is a grave violation of the constitutional rights guaranteed to every citizen of India. The repeated attacks on Christians taints the diverse culture and religious fabric of our nation. Strongly condemn this incident and urge the concerned authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and take swift, decisive action against those responsible.
The culture of greed and disrespect towards other living beings is being propagated in India.
The air we breathe, the water we are forced to drink, and the crumbling infrastructure around us are the consequences of this greed.
Yuvraj Mehta’s death is a direct consequence of this culture.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dedicated his life fighting for equity and justice. He taught us that even in the face of intimidation and discrimination, we must never stop working towards a better future – a lesson that feels especially relevant today.
Change has never been easy. It takes persistence and determination, and requires all of us to speak out and stand up for what we believe in. As we honor Dr. King today, let’s draw strength from his example, and do our part to build on his legacy.
After 4 years I came back to Udaipur and honestly, it’s shocking how badly the experience has degraded and yes, a huge chunk of this chaos right now is coming from Gujju tourist groups who seem to travel in herds with zero civic sense and infinite entitlement.
Before someone cries “racism” this is not about where you’re from. This is about how you behave. And the behaviour I saw was disgraceful.
Two incidents:
1. In a 5-star restaurant, a Gujju group was literally shouting across tables like they were in a marriage garden. No volume control, no awareness of others, no basic public etiquette. Just loud, obnoxious noise pollution because apparently vacation = jungle rules.
2. At Bahubali Hills at 7 AM, prime viewpoint occupied by another Gujju group blasting garba music and shouting like it’s Navratri night. My friend politely asked for 2 minutes to click one photo. The guy didn’t even acknowledge her. Just continued his main-character concert.
This is not “enjoying”. This is hijacking public spaces.
Udaipur is not your farmhouse. Heritage spots are not your private party venues. Other tourists are not NPCs in your reel.
People come here for peace, nature, views not to listen to someone’s Bluetooth speaker and daytime DJ fantasy.
Tourism in Udaipur is not being ruined by numbers. It’s being ruined by loud, inconsiderate, entitled groups and right now, yes, a lot of them happen to be Gujju weekend-tour crowds.
Not all Gujjus. But enough of them to make it noticeable and to absolutely destroy the vibe.
If you don’t know how to behave in public spaces, stay in resorts or stay at home.
Go to any city in India
Most beautiful parts of that city and the most stunning buildings are all those built by the British …..
It tells you a lot about the post partition low IQ India
